The device seems to work fine for what I wanted it for: it wont work for most video streaming apps due to copyright. My bigger concern is security - the cable requires “trust this device” like you are tethered to a PC - which is stated in the listing. But what isnt stated is it makes my iPhone time display 9:41 AM 100% battery in the top bar permanently. A QR code comes up on the TV screen when the HDMI and USB power are connected. The resulting app has varying reviews - some which poked my suspicion of security issues related to a random cable getting tethering permission - people that downloaded the affiliated app reported having to login to google accounts and shortly after having their account breached. I did not install the app but it seems that it is marketed as a way to update the cables firmware and an aid to mirror videos.All these small things could be nothing - but to me saving $40 dollars off the official apple device with the chance of a sketchy device being tethered to my personal information vault with cellular connectivity isnt worth it. The other downside is it will cost me $6 to return this possible trojan horse. Ill pick up the official Apple solution for peace of mind.

Cable wouldn’t work for what I needed.I purchased it so I could watch Netflix on my projector from my phone. I like the design because it was cheaper than apples alternative and less bulky which was convenient as my projector is quite small. But it won’t work. I may have wasted $16.00. In this instance, I recommend just biting the bullet and getting the Apple product.

This cable turns my iPhone into a computer! I can plug into my phone, where all my information is stored, and then into any monitor or tv with an HDMI port, and it mirrors my phone with almost no lag. I type emails on my phone, so I needed more screen real estate in my car to send quotes to potential clients. I purchased this cable along with a Bluetooth keyboard and my former mistakes typing email addresses are a thing of the past! I lost a job because I transposed two letters in a long email address, so I figured out a better solution, and carrying a laptop did not appeal to me. This allows me to use my iPhone as my "laptop" without using my tiny-ish phone screen (iPhone 6s). This solved a major problem for me!You may note the white cable in one photo. I have two of these cables, one with an elbow (the black one) so it doesn't stick so far out of the side of my phone, and the white one for my wife so it matches her phone.

Just thought I'd post a few comments on using this adapter. Believe me the adapter works great, I've never had any issues with it. I notice some of the reviews are confusing the ability of this adapter with the service they're trying to access. A lot of streaming services such has Netflix have placed a block on streaming services with adapters. If you have a blank screen with or without the audio, the chances are it has a block on it, the reason being that they are trying to block people from outside the US accessing Netflix because they have all sorts of licensing to protect, sometimes it's available to stream on the app though. Some updates can also unsupport it for a while until the update is patched. At the moment iOS 12 doesn't support it or any other adapter. Another easy option for Roku or Amazon Fire users would be to use a mirroring app instead of an adapter. Personally I only use this with a VPN which can get through most blocked sites such as Netflix in any country. (there's usually always a workaround) My advice if your an Apple user is to hold off purchasing until you know it's supported.

Did not work with my iPhone and I tried with multiple iPhones. The charging was fine but it didn’t display the contents from my iPhone to the projector/TV. I tried everything. Poor quality

I love this I like that I can plug this up to my phone and be able to watch movies on my television from my phone it makes it much easier than trying to look at a 6in screen on my phone. I am looking to order a few of these as having multiple televisions in the house I will keep one at work also since cable television is not something I use much of I order my movies and watch prime videos so it makes it easier for me to be able to do that anywhere pretty much

I bought this and put it in my briefcase for when I needed to show a presentation at work and when I needed to use it, I took it out expecting it to work and to my surprise it didn't. I was unable to show my presentation and the meeting was a bust. I should have tested it at home once I received it and not trust that it would. Now I can't even return it because it is past the time allotted to do so.

I purchased this cable for displaying photos from my iPhone 6s on a TV since I refuse to pay $60 for Apple's OEM version. I am really impressed with how sharp and vibrant the colors are on the TV. This is great for when you have guests coming over and you want to display a slideshow. I did not use it for video, so I cannot speak to its frame rate, but i did play some music off of the tv speakers. It worked well, but it is important to follow the steps listed in the instruction guide. The first time I did the order incorrectly and had no sound. You must 1) plug in the USB power cord, 2) plug in the HDMI to the TV, and 3) plug in the lightning connector to the phone. I also really like the fact that the phone will charge while it is connected, but keep in mind that you must have access to an outlet or USB power source or the wire will not work properly. Overall, I am really pleased with it as a low cost alternative to apple's hdmi cable.
