Crazy value! For those who are obsessed with measuring!
I don't know how they make these things so cheap, (robots and slaves?), but this is for measuring REALLY tiny things . It's built like a tank, and will outlive me, no doubt. But we Virgos are obsessed with measuring everything....yes, EVERYTHING...:) It's just what we do! I haven't actually used this one yet, but I can sleep better knowing that it is sitting quietly on my dresser waiting to fly into action, should i need to measure the width of a dead mosquito wing, or the width of a corn flake...It's important to know those things!! On a very practical note; I also own the inch version of this (or very similar), and I use it all the time to measure the width of strings on guitars and basses.. Those are rated in inches, and this sort of device is perfect for measuring them. Is that a .010 E string? or a .011 E string?? Grab the micrometer and see!! I prefer this to the digital form . It's more accurate to me.

Good Value For The Price
This device is a decent effort for the price. It appears to be accurate, as judged by my testing it on objects of known thickness. It seems to get it right, within 0.01 mm or so. For an inexpensive device, that is good enough for my needs. I wouldn't care to use this in a machine shop, but for home hobbyist use it is fine.I will note that it's not easy to use at first. This is not a fault of the device as much as it is that these devices in general require a little practice. You would do well to check on YouTube or elsewhere to learn how to use this, and how to take the readings.I'm satisfied with this, and would buy it again or recommend to a hobbyist friend.

Great for the money
I'm not setting up high accuracy machines. I need to get metal and wood to fit together, and make sheet good fit dados. My Harbor Freight calipers are a pain to bring to the store, and have hysteresis issues, while they're pretty accurate from 0 each time.My unit has 0.025mm or so of backlash at low pressure, and 0.04mm clamped tight. Adding 0.03mm gets results almost as accurate and repeatable as my HF calipers coming from zero, but much better when loosening and tightening over the length of a piece. It seems built well, and moves smoothly. If you need very high accuracy and precision, pay more. If you don't, and reasonably decent precision, with no hysteresis, will do, then this is fantastic for the cost.

Excellent for the average backyard mechanic and cheaper than at any retail store
Worked great for measuring brake rotor thickness. Just wish that it opened up a bit wider cause it can measure some thicker/newer rotors

Arrived with defects, but accurate enough
Micrometer arrived in a cracked case. There were chips in the thimble and defects in the knurling, and the entire frame doesn't really look like it is square. BUT it does read accurately. For a $10 tool it certainly will do its purpose until me needs necessitate a more high quality mic.

Cheap, and that's NOT a bad thing.
For under $10, I doubt you'll find a better micrometer than this.It has a solid, if not bank-vault tight feel to it. My guess: If you want want Starrett quality then you aren't going to want to waste even a small amount of your money on this. But if you want an occasional use micrometer that a seasoned machinist would probably use in a pinch without feeling nervous about the results, this is the tool for you.

Good enough for most use
Very usable. The bags the micrometer and the wrench come in do have a generous amount of packing oil, so you're going to want to wipe everything down before you use it (be careful if you use alcohol as the painted letters on the body can rub off). No instructions are included, which for someone new to micrometers might be an issue. If, when doing a measurement, you seat the spindle onto the anvil too vigorously, your measurement could be off by as much as 0.01 mm too small -- if you back off and seat more sanely, the measurement will be accurate. I did have to adjust mine as it was off by 0.03 mm, but the wrench did its job with adequacy. For the money, it's a nice little tool as long as you are mindful of how fast you ratchet it down. If that 0.01 mm is really critical to what you are doing, then maybe consider a more precision model.

A great tool for the money
Its my first outside micrometer, and I am very pleased with it. Seems to work flawlessly and is accurate, tested on small size steel wires. Big enough also for measuring brake rotors.

Good tool
I am sure that it is precise but really, what would you use to check that? ;-) Anyway, the tool is a quality product for me, works well, robust.

Good and cheap backup
I normally use digital micros and calipers, but they can break from drops, need batteries and have a habit of going missing in a busy workshop. As another reviewer said, my zero was out very slightly also, but was fairly easy to reset. It was well lubricated, I had to wipe some off after I opened it up to the full 25mm.

Good for the price
Decent little tool. It’s got some weight to it and doesn’t feel cheap, though the box it comes in sure does feel that way. It’s a little awkward that one rotation is half a mm as opposed to a full mm but honestly, as long as you know how to read a verniers scale you won’t have any issue using the tool. It comes with a very easy to use zeroing tool. I’ve only used mine a few times, and have had to adjust the zero point on it yet. I’d recommend it to anyone that isn’t going to be working in a lab type environment.

Perfect for small car brake servicing
Item arrived on time, and in perfect condition (don't know why some buyers complained about quality). I used this to measure my car brake rotors, and it works good.
