Keeps slider tank clean - great product but not the easiest to set up or clean.
I had difficulty setting it up the first time. But I wanted to share, especially with Vanessa, when cleaning, before you unplug the unit, turn off both valves at the same time. Then unplug and disconnect the unit and clean it. Fill it back up to the top with water. Connect the hoses, plug it back in. And then turn both valves on at the same time. Starts up flawlessly. Priming it the first time was difficult. But after that easy. Make sure to remember which hose goes where, that will cause you to have to re-prime the filter pump. This is definitely a great product, it’s worth the effort to setup and clean. You won’t clean it as often as other filters. It can easily go a month or two with no smell. (Slider turtle) Color will change is the indicator for me. But never had a smell once the bacteria levels balance out. Took approximately 2 weeks for it to obtain that earthy smell.

This is the ONE!!!
I LIKE the quiet motor, efficiency, light weight, easy clean, overall simplicity in putting this canister together and getting it started! I have a 55 gallon fresh tank and I chose to get the Aqueon 300 (for 75-100 gallons). I always choose overkill in filtration for my tank (LOTS of fish!). I tried using the spout for output (bout 2wks) length wise direction. Liked that the water was circulating-back towards the intake. The flow looked too strong for my fish. Put the spray bar on and it works much better-fish happier! My DISLIKE is the curved part that hangs on the rim of the tank. Doesn't seem to fit right on the rim of my 55 gal acrylic tank. I have to work that out to make me feel more secure about its placement. But I am happy I put the bar on! And I'm even HAPPIER that I purchased my AQUEON 300 canister!!

Super excited with my Aqueon canister Filter System.
I can't say enough about my new canister filter system. I was ready to throw in the towel with this aquarium. Could not clear it up, no matter what I did to it, and nitrites were shy high. Decided to order the Aqueon Quiet flow due to the good feed back and the aquarium set I purchased is also made by Aqueon. I received product within a week, and was able to assemble all by myself which was shocking, since I've never known anything about canister filter systems. As soon as I turned it on, I kid you not, I could see the water clearing up. By morning (Valaa) crystal clear. I couldn't be happier. And all my water levels are good. 🤗. Thank you again Aqueon. You saved my aquarium and took the stress out of maintaining my aquarium. I'm very happy and so are my fish babies.

Powerful, yet Amazingly quiet!
Amazingly quiet! Powerful flow, yet you can barely hear the pump running. This is quality without spending hundreds of dollars as with other competitors.

Great canister
noise level is normal, BUT defintely not loud, I have mine under the cabinet and cant really hear it only if i concentrate to look for the sound, Sheerness is great and its thick enough to put any media you want, so far im happy with it.

Works like a charm
The filter is a little noisy from the trays vibrating but I don't really notice it that much

Takes alot to clean but overall good filter
Pump doesn't fit under cabinet shelving. Quiet running however. 75 gallon tank with LOTS of cleaning needs meant 3 passes with extra filter before results were seen.

Easy priming! I LOVE IT!!!
I purchased this filter for my turtle tank. Assembly was extremely easy. The quick disconnects are the best I have seen. The priming function makes starting the pump very easy. It started the first time!

Expired? Used? Ruined tank
Within 1 day it has turned my water green, it hasn’t had a single problem before... water was tested at the pet shop and all my tests were in the right places, nitrogen ect were acceptable levels... why has it gone green? I have done 6 water changes of slightly more then 2/3 of the tank at a time and it won’t clear up, used more chemicals ect... no idea maybe bad or expired pieces of the filter media’s?
