Part of a birthday present for our son turning 10yrs.Absolutely love the how to train your dragon books and he was desperate to have the collectors cards - this includes all the cards and he was really happy!Great illustrations and a definite keepsake for fans.

My daughter is a huge fan of the how to train your dragon series and this is a perfect addition for any child.

Brought this book for 7 year old daughter who is not just into ‘How to train your Dragon’ but dragons as a subject, Dragonology. This is a fantastic book full of knowledge, ‘facts’, stories, touch and feel sections. Brilliant for all ages, I’m 40 and love it.

This lovely hardback version of the first book in this series has clearly been designed with Christmas in mind. It’s chunky, beautifully designed and has lots of shiny gold on the front cover. It would make an excellent gift, especially for fans of these books or dragons in general.If, however, you are thinking of getting it for someone who loves the films, please be aware that the books are very, very different and you may end up disappointed. Personally, I love both, but book Toothless is nothing like film Toothless and this may cause confusion, especially at first. (Hiccup is similar, but there’s no Astrid and Berk isn’t the same.)If you’re getting this for a fan of the books, then they should love it. The story is exactly the same as it’s always been, but this is a much more impressive looking volume, with red illustrated borders around every page featuring Hiccup and Toothless, claw marks and dragon scales. The complete set of collector’s cards is fun, especially if you haven’t got all the books or have lost some along the way, although I wouldn’t buy this book for them alone.There are also five full colour illustrations in the middle, but they’re all pictures of dragons and events that happen in later books. Even though I love the picture of Hiccup on his Windwalker, it might have been nicer to have had pictures from this book or even something new as the line “exclusive artwork” implies. Old readers will have seen these pictures before, while new readers won’t recognise the dragons, so it’s a little disappointing.Overall, though, this is a lovely gift edition. There’s nothing new about it, but it is very shiny and the quality is worth the price.

Arrived quickly, and all cards were neatly contained in a small sleeve at the back of the book. Great value for money and will be a lovely Christmas present for my brother. Very happy with this.

Great present for a How to Train Your Dragon fan.

I bought the book for my 6 year old as she loves HTTYD series on TV. I thought it would be a guide to the dragons with pictures etc, but it’s more like mini stories. It’s too old for her - hopefully she will enjoy reading in a few years!The book was damaged in post though by poor Amazon packaging. The glue from the envelope stick to the back cover and it’s too much hassle to send back!Disappointing purchase.

This is a marvelous edition! Such high quality! It has these beautiful cards too. You can experience with your child together the fantastic world of the improbably hero Hiccup and laugh with his sweet little dragon Toothless with this beautiful book. Highly recommended for fans of the series.

I thought it was just the cards, but it even has the book in there to! Was pleasantly surprised!! Hard cover and everything!
