Better than I could imagine
OK - it's not a professional "barista" coffee machine that can be found in coffee bars, pubs, restaurants and the like throughout the world. BUT it doesn't cost £2,000 or even £200 and for a very reasonable £64.99 including delivery this turns out to be an excellent purchase. A further (small) investment in crockery, frothing jug etc. may be necessary (depending on whether you've had a machine before - we did not) as well as an appropriate type of Espresso-ground coffee - we've so far tried only the Lavazza variety from Tesco. Some of the reviews suggest the coffee can be less than hot - certainly not true for the espresso. For cappuccino, by following the instructions about pre-warming the cup that is also at just the right temperature (the very same you would expect in a high street coffee shop). The other aspect that may have put some people off is the suggestion that you have to wait for the machine to heat up (from a cold start in the morning, for example). How about less than one minute and ready to go? By the time you've put the grounds in the holder, the machine will be ready. My wife and I are extremely pleased with this machine - and whilst we've only had it for a few days we've certainly not found any aspects to be negative about. Happy (REAL) coffee to all who purchase. FOUR MONTHS ON - and I can assure you that this machine is fabulous! It is used several times every day. I have not had an instant coffee at home since we got this machine. It is wonderful and I can only recommend it to anyone who likes proper espresso or cappucino coffee. A cappucino from start to finish (including emptying the grounds and cleaning the machine) is just 5 minutes. Brilliant! OVER 12 MONTHS ON - this machine is still working perfectly. Do not be put off by any of the negative reviews! We make four or five cups a day between us and, considering the price, it is an amazing machine. Whether you choose this machine or a much more expensive one, the process of heating the water, putting the grounds in the holder, frothing the milk (should you choose a cappuccino) and cleaning down the bits afterwards will be virtually the same. In fact, we are so impressed we bought a "spare" one of these EC-220 machines (which is carefully stored in our loft) for the day this one finally gives up (be that one year, five years or ten years from now).

Delight to use!
An absolute delight to use! This little machine is reasonably priced, and with a little practice you can make coffee to rival that of a high street barrista! Quick and easy to set up, though I've found that I prefer to use the double cup, as the single tends to be a little weak (But that might just be me!) It's easy to clean and look after, and easy enough to fill with a jug (Other reviewers have said the rubber seals can go if you remove the tank to fill). My only problems with this espresso machine are: 1) that the milk frother is very low, and quite difficult to use, especially to get enough frothed milk in one go for a bigger mug. Some people suggested getting a 600ml jug to use with it, but unless it's very low, you will have trouble getting it under the frother. a 300ml jug is fine for most uses mind. 2) It feels quite plasticy, though it is cheap, and though it seems quite strong and well built despite my worries that I might end up breaking something with my clumsy great hands (no mishaps so far!). Quick and easy to get to use with simple, almost foolproof controls, I already love this machine despite only having it for a few days.

Simply fabulous
This was bought for me as a Christmas present and it is all I have used for coffee since. The machine is very easy to use, with very clear illustrative instructions inside. There are two adapters to put the ground coffee in. One adapter produces one espresso and the other produces two espressos. For one espresso you fill the smaller adapter with one spoon (supplied coffee spoon) of ground coffee and for a double espresso you fill the larger adapter with two spoons of ground coffee. The machine heats the water to the perfect temperature for coffee and an indicator turns green when the water is hot enough. You can also use the machine to dispense hot water for topping up your cup of coffee. The frothing wand is really easy to use, just put it in a jug of milk and turn the valve at the top and it steams the coffee to heat it up and then the milk stretches and froths. This is great for cappuccinos and hot chocolates. Getting the perfect coffee for you depends mainly on the ground coffee you use. I have tried many different brands but my personal favourite is Taylors of Harrogate. Their coffee has won many favourite coffee polls and they offer a lot of brands. You can actually buy a set which comes with small samples of all their blends so you can choose your favourite. My favourite blend is their organic blend. Other brands I would recommend would be Costa, Coffee Direct, Illy and Lavazza.

Product as expected-pity about the Amazon delivery promise.
This DeLonghi Espresso Coffee Maker was promised next day delivery per my Amazon PRIME subscription. In spite of staying off work all day it never arrived. The primary reason being the Amazon use of CityLink, the secondary reason being that CityLink systems lost the parcel even although their systems showed it shuttling between Milton Keynes (origin) and Loughborough. (I live 15 mins from Amazon Milton Keynes) I complained to Citilink and they emailed me to say they were sorry they had completely lost the parcel. (Actually, no-one checked and the parcel arrived on the second day because the driver was honest. He had no documentation for the parcel other than my address.) The message for Amazon is this: your competitors can get parcels delivered to a one hour window, next day, without fail in my experience. Citilink, now part of the $2.5 Billion Rentokil - Initial corporation are still operating in the dark ages of the old Post Office. Drop them fast before you lose significant numbers of customers. My DeLonghi Espresso Coffee maker successfully provided my Espresso today. It was well packed but not wrapped in any way. At the discounted price this Espresso maker is very good value and it does just what it says on the tin. Makes good espresso, and very good Coffee Americano.

Fantasic Machine at an affordable price
was very excited about this, having tried the pod machines at work, I found them to taste artificial and bland. So i searched for a pump ground coffee machine for less than £100. This proved impossible, so discovered the espresso machines which turn out to work just as well. This machine is small and compact, but looks smart and at home in the kitchen. I take the drip tray out to fit the regular sized mugs and fill the filter with 1 and half scoops of ground coffee, compress it lightly (very important) to allow it to fit in the coupling. Turn it on ( after letting it heat up) and fill your cup. I've used the steamer for froth and heat the milk but do this with a steel jug as plastic and glass just creates smelly, failing frothy mess. The Creme is thick and you can almost scoop it and the simplicity to use and clean this machine make it simply AWESOME. Read a few reviews about failings and other issues. Don't worry comes with a 2 year warranty.

Its OK, thats it, just OK
The build quality is actually fairly good apart maybe from the plastic top that opens so you can refill the water which is a bit flimsy. THE BAD:- Not convinced by the quality of the coffee it produces. The first 1 second of the coffee filtering through is nce and dark but after that it turns into a very watery colour. Its debateable whether its any better than what you get from a French Press which costs a few quid. The coffee pod is kinda awkward to clean. You constantly have to scoop the grooves to get it cleared out for the next cup. This isn't too bad but is time consuming and tedious. You are constantly refilling the water compatrment. Again this goes with the territory at this price range but its still tedious. If the coffee you get isn't worth the effort why bother? If they had made the unit a few mm higher you would have the convenience of just placing your cup of steamed milk under the coffee pod but its still too short. THE GOOD Its better than instant coffee The steamer works well

LEAK'S *** No replacement but I can buy for £40 more**CON**
only got this two days ago... De'Longhi EC220.CD Pump Espresso Coffee Machine ...I bought this machine as I really want my own machine at home as I was paying to much in my local shops and wanted to save money overall. Any way I was like a kid opening my package and read through the instructions. Looked Fab, good quality really happy with this product at this point. Ok checked all parts were there pluged in the machine, placed the water tank onto the back filled water with a jug. I was about to swith the power on when the water started to leak out of the water tank. Where the nozzel inside the water tank sits on the back of the machine it runs out all over the counter rather than entering the machine. I even thought, ok the machine must need the power on before you fill it. Nope did not mater eiether way. I was so upset but I thought I would just get it replaced as I really liked the look and feel of this machine and it must just be a little fault. So on a call to get it replaced the Amazon employee told me that i can get a full refund and no option to replace, as he was teling me this I was looking on line and could see they were indeed instock but from another supplier for an exra cost. I paid £60.99 and its now going to cost me £96.00 and then the postage on top. I just think its a terribls service by Amozon, it feels like a con. I love Amozon and I order all the time. I now have no Coffee Machine but have new cups spoons glasses oh lucky me that will be great an espresso or a cappuccino with no coffee.

BRILLIANT
For years i have been looking for a good and affordable coffee machine and this is it. It takes ground coffee like my favorite one lavazza and also you can use the ESE pods but for me it was the fact that the latte wand on the side really works, i got a metal jug and thermometer from Andrew James and every time i have made an awesome latte, for those struggling only half fill the jug with milk then just slightly tip the jug to the side so you get a swirling action going with the milk in the jug, only turn the steamer knob halfway at most and within a couple of minutes the jug will fill to the brim and you will get a frothy coffee. In short this is a quality machine that does everything really well and imo at the same level as the big high street multiples and you cannot go wrong with it.

Echt super! Also ich gebe volle 5 Punkte.

- Assemblaggio solido. - Dimensioni contenute. - Velocità nell'arrivare in temperatura.
