A Hugh upgrade from the hd 60x and the right upgrade thanks to the ultra wide support now and 144hz capture on a 3440x1440 is a streamers dream. Fits the agenda for consoles such as the Xbox Series S/X as well as PS5. I own all systems and tested this on them and the results are good. Elgato is like the power company and they have you by the balls and you have to go their route as not another company can provide or compete. Now before you yell at me and say avermedia then hear me out. I am not a paid reviewer and I am elgato to the end all because avermedia failed me with their software and input lag which is not good. This capture card 4k x is long needed and should have been what they tried to do with the HD60X. I stream daily with this thing and I never turn it off and it's going strong. bought a cheaper version first. because i'm dumb. unlike the first one, this device has easy set up. Seems to function as supposed to, has minimal heat, and behaves pretty well. All in all, I'm happy I upgraded.

One of the best capture cards I have owned. Super easy to setup and use. Quality is insane and it’s worth the every dollar.

I’ve had an amazing time with this capture card the software for it was pretty easy to set up. The only thing that sucks. Is you have to make sure that you turn off hdcp before hooking up to a PlayStation or Xbox! Recording quality on it is amazing. Haven’t had any issues with 4K recording or 1440 P recording however, if you were trying to use this on a PS3 keep in mind that this capture card will not work with the PS3 my last point I would like to make is the only really trouble I ran into while using this is that on the Nintendo switch two outputting in 120 from the dock to the capture card makes this weird fuzzy picture and doesn’t really work so I recommend just turning off the 120 mode and VRR if you’re using it on the Nintendo switch 2

This is the capture device I initially meant to buy. So far it works great and connects to my PS5 Pro, Series X and Switch 2 flawlessly, it’s also Mac compatible as I use this on a MacBook Pro M3 Pro.

Overall, I am very impressed with this device and have had a great experience using it. My only real critique is that the software does not support direct audio recording, which would have made the workflow much more seamless. Aside from that single drawback, it is a high-quality piece of tech.

Works as well as I'd hope. My HD60 I got at a pawn shop finally died and this was on sale. Glad to say it works well with OBS to record. The software from Elgato, I think it's called Elgato Studio, feels like a step back from Game Capture HD, but it works well enough if you just want to stream the window itself to friends on Discord. I did have to use a USB-C to USB adapter because the cable this comes with is USB-C on both ends.

Bought this to upgrade my original 1080p version of this device. Elgato make quality hardware, and this allowed me to upgrade to full 4K on my streaming set up. I use it with OBS and it just presents as a webcam, you don't need to install any extra software. I'm also able to take an extra audio feed out of it, so when i'm streaming, I can capture the audio both in OBS and also out via Discord so that other people joining me on stream can get a live feed as well. It's a solid bit of hardware, dead easy to use, high quality and have had no compatibility issues. Only thing to be aware of is that this kind of device does NOT work with HDCP - so for example, if I want to use Netflix on my main PC, it'll make the screen go blank once Netflix tries to kick in HDCP. It's not a fault in the device, HDCP is designed specifically to block this kind of thing to prevent piracy. Annoying, as while I have intention to pirate, I'd like to still be able to watch Netflix without rewiring my set up to remove the capture device each time. This will be common issue on all capture devices however. Back on the positive, it works well with my 4K 60hz screens and other than when watching Netflix, I have it in live use all the time even when not streaming, zero latency issues getting in the way at all. I also have a switch connecting it to all my consoles as well (PS5, Xbox Series X) and no issues there either, no compatibility issues at all (make sure HDCP is disabled on the PS5!). Great bit of kit, highly recommended.
