Prince: Before the Rain

The often overlooked pre-Purple Rain era of Prince's career is captured perfectly in this book of photographs by one of the best photographers Prince ever worked with. Along with Jeff Katz, Steve Parke and Randee St. Nicholas, Allen Bauliaeu captured the essence of Prince's character and mystique. The book covers 1979-1983 with a few post Purple Rain era photos at the end. The stories connected to each photo shed new light on Prince. Unlike some of the other books released, this shows the early years of Prince where his guard is a bit lower. I can't recommend this book enough. If you love Prince... Buy it!

One of my favourite photo books about Prince. It has beautiful pictures from the late 70s to the early 80s. I wish they were all in big size because I love every single one of them!

Got this for 8 pounds and some pence. And I was shocked. Thought it would be small. I was so wrong. Great book. With some great pics.

O livro é maravilhoso, ele tem fotos realmente raras que vc não vai achar na internet, sobre foto feita por IA de comentários anteriores só tem uma e é muito boa por sinal. As páginas são grossas e de ótima qualidade, até o cheiro é gostoso, muito bom! Pra quem é fã do Prince, vale muito a pena ter esse livro na coleção. Estou começando a minha agora e comprei por indicação de outro fã.

Repleto de fantasticas fotos. ¿Quereis imagenes en alta definicion y comentarios sobre lo que pasó en el concierto de los rolling Stones en 1980? id a la pagina 80. P.S. Los dos primeros discos postumos (piano & microphone y Originals) han utilizado imagenes de Al, así que si quereis saber cualse serán las futuras portadas yo os recomiendo comseguirlo ahora que esta rebajado a un 60%

I just came home to find my book had arrived and I could not be more excited! I haven't bought most of the books that have come out since Prince's passing but when I saw some of the photos in this one leaked online, I had to get it. First, let me give thank you to whoever came up with the very affordable price for this book-- under 20 bucks and worth way more!! For the photos inside and also, the quality of the book. The book is hardcover, heavy, a nice coffee table book that looks like it would cost much much more. Unlike some of the books that have come out since Prince's passing, this does not feel like a cash grab but seems more like a book made from love and respect and made available at an amazing affordable price! I will be ordering 2 more as Christmas presents. So far I have only flipped through it but can already see how special this book is and how cool these photos are! I can't wait until this weekend when I can sit down and spend a good bit of time going over it. 5 STARS above and beyond-----
