This was a perfect fit and installed easily. Notes: The handle width may be more narrow than the original but everything works fine. Also: To protect the new unit from Florida's brutal UV, I placed a white plastic collar around the neck near the bottom. Remember to double check the part numbers.

This new control valve workerd great the instant I installed it. And it operated so smoothly. I would think that a heafty, costly valve as this would last forever: but it was the summer sun that finally did in MY old valve. It developed tiny cracks in the thickest portion of the walls. These cracks finally led to high pressure leaks that shot out 5 feet or more. NOW, I cover the valve from the hot summer sun, and sprayed most of it white, to reflect the heat, ( just in case). I imagine those sub- zero days of winter would also warrent a different kind of protection. Or, you could do nothing; after all, my original valve lasted 40 years with no care, whatsoever.

This was a direct replacement for the original unit even though the model number changed. It did come with everything in the picture. At the bottom of the page was suggested items to purchase for the clamp, gasket, and gauge. Glad I did not order them as well. 4 stars because of the experience. I had to send back the first one. It was leaking a bunch around the selector stem. Having never returned anything that was defective before, I had a hard time finding where to do it on here. All prominent information said return to the manufacturer for warranty. I finally clicked enough buttons and found a place to order a replacement at no charge so long as the first one was returned in the stated time frame.

Everything fits and works fine. It took several tries to realize that this valve should be installed with PVC Unions for easy removal. Several O-Rings have failed but that's over 20 years of service.

I bought this valve in February 2025, and it started leaking in early December the same year. I understand that issues can happen and things aren’t always perfect. I contacted Hayward support and spoke with John. After providing details like the Amazon invoice, serial number, and model, he sent me a warranty replacement within a few days. I'm impressed with Hayward’s customer service and professionalism, which contrasts with some reviews I saw. I will definitely recommend and continue using Hayward products.

I purchased a new filter & valve body one year ago and when the first valve head failed I purchased TWO more. I registered all the produces with Hayward for warranty, because of the fail on the first two. When the third failed I started trying to get them covered under warranty. I was told I had to contact their certified repair people. (Torres Works- DBA Sirena Pool & Spa) They came out after about three weeks of re-scheduling my appointments, and verified the valves were faulty! Telling me my plumbing was all good and he would call the area rep and get me the replacement free only paying for the install giving me a three year warranty, then it turned into a two year, then a one year with no free warranty replacement because I purchased it on line and not form them.Told them I was throwing out my NEW Hayward filter ($900.00 purchase) plus the two additional heads to buy a Pent-air from Zagger Pool and Supply. Brand I was told to go with by three other of Hayward's repair reps that had issues with Hayward and no longer covered them or recommend their products.Lesson learned right? Well to add insult to financial insult Sirena Pool & Spa sent me a bill for $90.00 for coming out to check warranty on the Hayward equipment!! Although a Hayward customer for over 30 years I now would never replace anything with a company that looks for a loop hole to not stand behind their defective products. The composite on the valve heads was to hard and they would start fracture cracking within hours after installing them...
