Worked well enough
My Sphynx got switched to a hydrolyzed diet in an attempt to see if it would help control his excess ear wax production. Unfortunately, it didn't work. That being said, the food itself is fine, albeit a little blander than other flavors of food. My cats ate it with no issue. Unfortunate that it's pricy, but if you need it, it works.

Works well
My cat does great on this food. He was diagnosed chronic puked but hasn’t gotten sick since he’s been on this food!

Good stuff
If you have a cat with EGC or digestive issues this is a great cat food. The vet recommended this for my cat with EGC and while it remains to be seen if he will have fewer outbreaks, my other two senior girls have had much fewer issues with vomiting and loose stools. They love this food and gobble it up. Just wish it were not so expensive

Expensive
Great food, but the price is too steep

Kitty approved!
My sick picky cat was prescribed this HA food and she actually loves it! Such a relief because it’s been helping her body heal and she will need to be on it for a while. Her sister has also started stealing it so I will probably need to buy a bigger bag soon.

Great for food sensitivity
I was feeding my 5 month old Bengal kitten Orijen Cat & Kitten dry food for a month, impressed with the healthy ingredients. The Orijen food was introduced gradually to him, but as the weeks progressed, my kitty started to have very severe diarrhea. It got so bad that he had to be hospitalized overnight at the vet, because he was becoming dehydrated at an alarming rate. After putting him on several antibiotics the vet recommended this hypoallergenic food, because it was likely that my kitten had food sensitivities or irritable bowel syndrome. Within 2 weeks of feeding him Purina HA, he was back to his regular self again and the diarrhea cleared up. I will probably keep him on this diet since it has been working so well.

Saved our cat.
We adopted a skinny cat from the shelter. She was so skinny she walked through the rungs on a gate when we tried to separate her for the first few days. Come to find out, she had profuse diarrhea. We tried different things and finally I got on Amazon and read people's reviews of foods to treat this. Within 3 days, the diarrhea was totally gone and has never returned. We were able to add other foods over the years as she tired of eating one food, but now she has developed respiratory issues with foods and we have put her back on HA and they coughing and sneezing have disappeared. Poor girl is very sensitive to allergens in food, I guess. This is hydrolyzed, which our vet explained means they process the food by breaking the proteins down into tiny, tiny particles as it is the protein she is allergic to, and this makes it so her body can deal with the protein. The only other food we found that does this is the Royal Canin (very expensive), but they offer a food that is hydrolyzed as well and she can eat that. She gets very ill on the other allergenic foods offered by Hill's, etc. Our cat could not live without this food.

Didn't work for my cat's IBD
This food was recommended by my vet for my cat with IBD although she was on a limited ingredient food she liked. She liked the taste of this food but even though she was on medication her symptoms didn't get better. I decided to go back to her limited ingredient food that she was eating previously and along with her medication she started doing much better and eventually got back to normal. This food might help some cats with digestive issues, but for my cat it just didn't work.

Consider the age of your cat and the diet he/she has been on over the years. Whiskey, the cat, was accustomed to wet cat food twice a day and dry throughout the remainder of the day. Once his allergies were identified (allergic to proteins) Purina's Hypoallergenic cat food was the dry cat good he selected. He still wants some wet cat food so he gets a homemade diet. So far, he still likes this dry food - it's the right size and not too crunchy for his aging teeth.
