amazing for the price
Bought this as a regular bedroom TV and i was impressed by the quality of it, i have a vizio that’s more expensive than this TV and that one is absolute garbage, this one out of the box was more responsive and better picture quality, although not the biggest fan of the OS, if you put an apple TV it makes an amazing setup, glad to see panasonic back!

Use Samsung code 10054 for Directv remote.
I am going to tentatively give this unit 5 stars. The picture is fine, and was not hard to set up. HOWEVER, none of the Panasonic codes on my Directv remote work to program the remote for this unit. Use: 10054 instead. This may provide a hint as to who actually designed the new Panasonic offerings.UPDATE: I am going to ding them one star. This is for two related reasons: 1. The default Input is WIFI streaming, not your last input (upon switching off). This means EVERY TIME you turn on the set you have to stop, take the remote and cycle through the menu to get to "Input selection" then select your input (HDMI in my case). I thought this might have been corrected by a software update, but was not. And 2: while most functions work on my Directv (universal) remote, the input select does not. (See my comment above regarding using Samsung codes. I tried ALL the Samsung codes and 10054 is the best-NONE of the Panasonic/Technics codes work at all). You might be okay with Wifi streaming as your default, but even then, you have to stop and select which service every time.

TV seems fine, but Netflix won't work...UPDATE - It works!
FYI I will update this review over time.If you have this TV, please make note if Netflix works or not in your review, that will help establish a pattern.Like I said, the TV seems to work decent, and the picture is bright and vivid. However, there is massive issue with it right now. Netflix gives me a "tvq-pb-101" error when trying to play *anything*. This only happens on this TV. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, unplugged, rebooted, checked for updates, cleared Netflix AND FireTV player data and cache to no avail. I'm not sure if there is some version mismatch between the FireTV version on the TV(too new?) and Netflix or what the deal is, but it's a pretty big issue if I can't use one of the most widely used streaming apps on it. It feels harsh to give it 2 stars just based on a Netflix issue, but it maybe should get 1 star and returned. I shouldn't need to immediately add an external streaming device to a brand new smart TV. I almost exclusively use FireTVs for my devices and this is the first time I've encountered this error.Update: Amazon has reached out to me and is taking the issue seriously. The issue does still remain currently, but the case was just opened. I had written in another update that is missing somehow that I did also reach out to Netflix. They claimed there was a known issue, but I wasn't sure if the SR was being honest or just getting me off the line because it felt like a brush off. I am impressed that Amazon is having their engineers look at it because it does seem to be an issue with this TV/version of Fire OS as another reviewer has the same issue. Even if it does turn out to be an issue that resides on the Netflix side, I would guess Amazon has a bit more pull to get things changed than a couple of us!Update 2: Roughly 12 hours after I spoke with Amazon, Netflix appears to be working. I'm not sure what was done, but I gave their engineers access to my device data to troubleshoot. I have a follow up call this weekend and will update again if there is something worth sharing, or if the problem returns. I am actually pretty impressed if they did something to fix it - I'm not sure I would have gotten the same level of care from many other brands. Moving to 5 stars now because the panel is bright and crisp, and everything works...plus the service was great.Update 3: Despite what a reviewer claims, it did not take "a couple of weeks" to get the issue fixed. Once Amazon saw the review and reached out(1-2 days maybe), it was around 24 hours(or less) for it to be fixed. I'm all for holding companies responsible, but let's be accurate and not exaggerate.Panasonic, if this is an issue with the TV, feel free to reach out and I will assist in troubleshooting the issue.

EDIT: TV now able to play Netflix
This TV did not play Netflix like it was supposed to when it shipped to me. I had to add network equipment to bypass this insane defect. Amazon/Panasonic launched a new product with a defective OS/Netflix app? It didn't make me happy. It was a real shame because the TV was great for everything else. It took a few weeks of bad reviews and complaints for one of the vendor offenders to finally repair this easily-avoided BS. Had Quality Assurance done their job and not shipped a brand-new 2025 flagship model TV that could not play Netflix, it would deserve a 5-star review. While I like the TV, the demonstrated lack of quality control makes me question what other corners may have been cut during production. Caveat emptor.

Premium brand at bargain pricing
The W70 Series is Panasonic's entry level offering for 2025 and is part of their return to the U.S. market after 9 long years. I for one am glad to see Panasonic is back. I owned a Panasonic plasma for almost 15years and it was trouble free and had a beautiful crisp picture till the day I got rid of it. It's probably still going strong today. This TV is a great value. It's a smart TV with the popular and familiar Fire OS (also known as Fire TV). It has a great modern look and features 4k resolution with a voice enabled remote (Alexa). The picture is bright, crisp and beautiful and the interface is responsive and familiar. The sound could be better, but most budget TV's are lacking in sound (nothing a soundbar can't fix). It as enough HDMI inputs to meet my needs (I don't actually use any of them) and is everything I'd expect in a budget friendly smart TV. I understand some have reported issues with the Netflix app, but I don't currently have a Netflix subscription so I cannot confirm or deny. That said, all the streaming apps I've tried work as expected.Overall, if you're looking for a quality budget friendly TV, this is a great option.
