Works
Bought instead of the 6000 dollar well pump that was recommended to me by the well driller. Works great and has worked for the last two years. Gets 11gpm in a 300 foot well. Saved me 5700 bucks

Good pump but it needs a better capacitor before you put it down your well
Pump has lasted me about a year and counting. However.... When I first put it in it failed within a week. The trouble is that the capacitor is loose in its housing so it jerks aginst the wires each time the pump kicks on. I pulled the pump and replaced the capacitor. Not because it failed but because the wire broke right where it meets the capacitor. If I were to buy this again I would replace the capacitor initially or at least reinforce the wires. Also the instructions include some information about a weep hole just above the check valve. This is not necessary and if you put it it will ultimately result in a jet of water that will cut your well casing or at least heat it to the point that it distorts making it difficult to pull the pump.

excellent flow rate. install per instructions and work with customer support if questions arise.
Installed july 2023. Added check valve to pump and drilled 1/8" bleed hole per directions. Installed down to 226 ft with torque arrestor on 1 1/4" line. Got 24 gallons per minute flow at well head. installed Barrett Pump Stop 1" Plastic Valve - 50# just before the check valve going into the pressure tank to control pump stopping too quickly. So far working great! I get all the water I need. My well produces prodigious amounts of water. I plan to tee off the tank line to feed irrigation on the land next spring. I'll check back in the future to add any comments on performance issues I encounter. 1/25/2025

Pump is economical but some stuff looks cheap.
I like this pump. It's doing what it should be doing but there are THREE things I didn't like about it. FIRST: The top of the pump is really small. Usually these tops are a big chunk of steel but this pump has a small cap of metal. I can't say whether this will effect the operation at all and as I said it seems to be working right now. SECOND: I didn't like the 230V wires. They seemed small for supplying current to a 230V pump. The two lines that where the 230V power supply were adequate (maybe a little on the small side). I think they should have been bigger. The neutral line appeared to be really small. This line doesn't matter that much and isn't carrying lots of current so I can see why they left it small. THIRD: I didn't like the holes for the safety rope. I have a big safety rope and the holes were too small for me. I measured them to be slightly larger than 1/4". I would recommend that you buy some marine grade D-ring shackles with the purchase of this pump if you have a line that is over 1/4" thick. I used quick links but had to run all over my area to find a place that had them in stainless steel. Also the safety line holes were on a little wing that came out at the top of the pump. I'm worried that one of these could break especially if the pump is sitting in water for >10yrs. I used both of them. You can see my setup in the attached picture. Overall, the pump is doing what it should be doing which is why I gave it 4stars. I'm not dissatisfied. One note of caution on this though: Almost every part of this pump that I interfaced with appeared to be cheap, wires, cap, safety line holes... There is not much more that you touch when you are installing a well pump. If what I could see appeared to be this cheap I am worried that the rest of the pump is chincy as well. Just a note of caution.

Very good so far.
The pump appeared to be well made. Installation was easy. I was happy with the rope attachment size even though some were not. I bought this some time ago and just got around to installing it. It performs as advertised and very accurate to the charts provided for flow. I have not had time to gauge the longevity, but I see no reason for that to be a problem as its working great. I am very happy with a pump without a control box. When ordering your pump pay close attention to the chart for pump sizing mine was right on the edge between one and two horsepower and I think I bought one a bit too large. My bad not theirs. Their customer support was immediate with a couple of questions I had.

Low volume
Had a name brand 1hp 10 gal per minute pump that was in the well for over 10 years and the pump was having issues. Understandable for 10 years. Bought this pump thinking it was rated at 2hp and higher volume. Wrong, wrong, wrong. My well is 32ft deep and unlimited amount of water per minute. I installed the pump and everything is working good, psi @ 60lbs but the volume sucks. @ 32ft you would think this pump would be putting out an outrageous amount of water. If you turn on a faucet the flow seems to be good. If you turn on two faucets the flow drops way down and if you open three faucets you get a dribble out of all three which are 2 gpm faucets. The supply line is 1 inch. So just a dribble flow which would be at a max of 6 gpm is not good at all. Since I waited past the 30 days to install this pump I can't send it back. I'll be looking for another pump.

Excellent value. Solid construction. Wire it right!
Pump has been running perfectly for over 2 years. Feeding 3 houses, 260 feet deep, with NO check valve at the pump (just one at the top). The construction is excellent. After reading some negative reviews when I purchased it, I invested in some additional quality electrical supplies and took my time to make sure every connection was solid and absolutely sealed. I suspected it at the time, but after two years with zero issues I'm convinced the number one issue with this pump is people misunderstanding and/or doing a poor job with the wiring. Take your time! Be absolutely sure every connection is rock solid, sealed with adhesive lined shrink tubing, and then use PVC pipe wrap tape to secure all your wiring to the bottom of your piping so they won't wiggle and risk coming loose. And use a check valve at the pump. I didn't because I couldn't get one in time and needed water, but you should. I tested mine every step of the way. First in a garbage can just overflowing the water on top of itself (with the wiring covered). Then with the piping attached, emptying back into the garbage can (I did this to clean out the pipe a bit too, but that was unique to my situation). Then again about 20 feet into water in the well. Then of course again at the bottom. I will 100% buy again. At this price I may just keep one on hand.

The additional vertical in-line spring loaded check valves should be installed
Recently I replaced my 15 years-old Flotec deep well submersible pump (3/4 HP, 6.8 Amp) with the Hallmark Industries MA0419X-12A deep well submersible pump (2 HP, 10.2 Amp, 35 GPM, 400' Head). I bought Hallmark pump, because Flotec do not use anymore powerful 6.8 Amps motors from the Franklin Electric company. The depth of my well is 455 feet. The pump was set at 400 feet. The seasonal depths to water are from 300 feet to 150 feet. Static/Standing water level is unknown...The rubber torque arrestor was installed properly. Unfortunately the water hammer problem started immediately and in a few days the underground pitless adapter was damaged. The adapter started liking. Water hammers (water hammering) are frequently caused by problems associated with: - a built-in soft starter (does not work properly or missing), - a built-in check valve. Especially when a simple check valve (such as a lift check valve) is installed instead of a silent check valve. Water hammer happens during pressure surges following quick valve closure. To show how powerful a water hammer can be, I connected my homemade T-puller to the underground pitless adapter. You can see my YouTube video by entering these keywords: water hammer generated by a powerful deep well submersible water pump. There are two practical solutions to avoid water hammering : - for a deep pump settings it is recommended that additional vertical in-line spring loaded check valves be installed in the drop pipe at 200 ft intervals. - install a soft-start/stop control(ler) with torque control similar to this one (12 Amps, soft start ONLY). I did not find a soft-start controller for a reasonable price. The cheapest one was for the price of pump (Http://amzn.to/1NWGUSe.), therefore I reinstalled pump with two check valves. One was installed after the first 200 feet of black plastic water pipe, the second one was installed into the removable part of the pitless adapter. Since that time pump works great at the 450" depth! Some Tips: - to secure your pipe connections I would recommend you to use brass Pro-grade long or XL (extra-long) adapters with 12 barbs that will allow you to install three hose clamps for each connection, - use wide Pro-grade clamps, but not the Home Depot-grade clamps, - to reinforce the clamps (to prevent them from loosening up) I prefer to apply electrical tape over the clamps. I like this outdoor-use tape: http://amzn.to/24pn63j - use a heat gun to simplify installation of barbed adapters and heat shrink splicings/tubings for the electrical cable connections, - immerse spliced connections PRIOR to the installation of your pump to the well to test electrical cable and splices for leaks to ground. Update: July 31, 2023 My pump is still working great!

Great value on a solid pump
So far, so good - pump seems well built and the price is unbelievable. I just replaced my well pump on a 400 foot well with this 2 hp pump and it’s running like a dream. The sellers give good instructions on how to choose your pump based on amps drawn as opposed to stated horsepower of the motor. Just be sure to install your own backflow valve just above the pump as the backflow valve in the pump is more for secondary use.

Impressive for the price
I'm impressed. We bought this pump to replace a failed really expensive pump. We were shocked at how heavy and well built this pump is. Working very well.

Impressed
After 1 year in the well it's working perfect only thing is you need to add a brass foot valve not a big deal , the plumber who hooked up my water tank was very impressed at the flow rate it gave me on a 160 foot well and it's less than half the price I can get one local in NB Canada , quality built for sure
