NOT ONLY USEFUL, BUT GREAT BATTERY LIFE AS WELL!
I'll admit; after reading the reviews regarding this item, I was a bit skeptical as to how effective it would be compared to its counterparts, esp the fully wired model. It didn't make complete sense to me that the wired model, at $28.99, would cost more than the rechargeable wireless model at $19.99. Still, I decided to give it a try and see for myself whether or not this product could hold up to the task of getting rid of potentially hundreds of mosquitoes every night; I live next to an extremely humid section of dense East Coast Appalachia woodland, where mosquitoes are a constant threat and nuisance late into the year, long after stores have stopped selling their summer merchandise to get rid of pests and insects. Additionally, I have several semi-outdoor cats & young kittens for whom a mosquito bite could mean contracting heartworms. I had been routinely going through large citronella candles and burners, and needed another solution. So, I decided to give this big zapper a try. After using this bug zapper every day for over a week, here is what I've observed: 1. BATTERY LIFE: While charging can be a bit of a pain (around 1-2 hours for a full charge), once it's charged this bug zapper lasts a SURPRISINGLY LONG TIME, around 6-7 hours at full strength. I've been charging it for a while during the day and leaving it outside at night starting at around 8PM, and it'll still be going even 7 hours later. Alternately you can operate this bug zapper using the included USB C-C & C-A cable for extended use. 2. NOISE LEVEL/EFFECTIVENESS: While operating at 5200V, the zapper itself is silent--until it zaps a bug. The *pop!* that accompanies the demise of an insect is incredibly loud, so much so that it startled me the first time! 😂 But it's an incredibly satisfying sound, knowing that the product is doing its job. We had this small little bug zapper from TEMU that was surprisingly efficient for it s size, and finding one that was comparable has been difficult. This one is probably the closest we have come to finding a zapper as effective at pest control as that one is. COST VS. VALUE: At $19.99, this bug zapper is a great value for the cost, esp considering that it can be operated both in wired and wireless modes. In fact, I would argue that it's an even better value for the cost than the wired model is at $28.99! The product also comes with a warranty, so even if the product becomes damaged, it will be repaired or replaced. Additionally, the LED light tubes are easy to replace when one burns out; simply pull back on the tube and pop it out of its cradle and replace it with a new one that the manufacturer also offers at a low cost on Amazon. Together this means that for just under $20 you have the potential to own a bug zapper that will be guaranteed reparable and functional for an extended period of time. As great as this product is at killing all kinds of bugs, there is one minor issue: this bug zapper is NOT WATERPROOF. YOU CANNOT OPERATE THIS BUG ZAPPER OUTDOORS WHILE IT IS RAINING OR EVEN A LIGHT DRIZZLE. Please bear this in mind when operating in an outdoor space. TLDR: This bug zapper is absolutely worth the cost, even just to try it out and see if it'll meet your needs 😇 you've got nothing to lose but mosquitoes and biting insects, so why not give it a shot?

Kills fruit gnats, battery powered, great for camping
I love this thing so much I bought two. It works great on those little fruit gnats you get in the fall. Most bug zappers have too big of a gap, but not this one. You can charge it and run it all night, or do like I do and just leave it plugged in. Great item for camping! I also love that it has LEDs which should last longer than a UV bulb.

Loud and satisfying
This thing actually works pretty good. Zaps all the knats and mosquitoes. Like the charge system so carry it anywhere. Only thing is that it really loud and satisfying at the same time but scares the hell out of my dog.

Works on wide variety of insects, attractive effectiveness of lights questionable
I bought this primarily to address indoor drain flies which are tiny little things the size of a gnat. Upon receiving it, i noted that the wires that actually carry voltage seemed a bit far apart and worried that it would not work on tiny insects. I was surprised to find out that it worked well on those tiny bugs and even killed a large hornet with it. I have not seen the lights successfully do much to attract insects however, it seems to catch and zap things only when i place it right on top of something else that attracts insects, like a trash can or old fruit. Note that the battery seems to last a long time, it ran overnight (10 hours) without issue.

Not super efficient at house flies but if you control the competing light sources it works!
Had some rotten onions in a cabinet we didn’t know about and got a fly infestation. At first I hated this zapper but over time it is very effective. Competing light sources are the problem during the day but at dusk and dawn.. pop! Also the battery power is nice. If I noticed a few in a specific room I just unplug and set it in there and turn off all the lights… pop! Also if I see a fly on the wall I slowly hold this up to the fly and the light mesmerizes them and pop!

Finally a bug zapper that does what it's made to do!

Buzbug NOT Effective for Mosquitoes - Buzbug is good at zapping nat-like creatures.
In the two weeks I have been using the Buzbug it has only zapped 2 mosquitoes! Not effective for mosquitoes. The mosquitoes fly right by the Buzbug. I have placed the Buzbug in various places in my home - works the same everywhere. However, the Buzbug does zap the tiny nat-like flying creatures. That is why I gave the Buzbug a 3-star. Note: You will need a sizable tray or placemat to put under the Buzbug, because all zapped creatures do not fall down into the built in Buzbug tray. Many of the zapped flying creatures fall within about 5 inches or so outside the Buzbug.... The remains of the zapped that do not fall straight down into the built in tray can be found on either side of the Buzbug. So far I have found that an inexpensive plastic placemat is a good "tray" because I can remove the zapped creatures and then quickly wash the placemat with soap & water, and put the Buzbug back on the placemat. Note: be sure to place the Buzbug on the placemat in such a way that most of the placemat is in front of & behind the lites and caged area, so that the zapped will land on the placemat (if they do not fall into the built in tray). Now, if only I knew how to interest the mosquitoes in getting close enough to the Buzbug to be zapped.... Then, I could give a 5 star review.

Strap screws
Work great but the screws that hold the strap keeps falling off. Tighten the screws.
