PERRINShifter Stop Compatible with Subaru WRX 2018-2020

Installed this shifter stop in my 2019 WRX and notice a significant improvement. There is less extra travel to the left of 1st and 2nd gear, it feels much tighter.I never had a problem shifting from 3rd to 2nd like many reported, but after the install it is clear that this is how the car should have been originally manufactured. While it didn’t feel broken before, now it feels “fixed”.I opted to not install the washers as I heard many reports of them being difficult to install with a decent chance of breaking one of the plastic pieces. I tried to see the extra slop that the washers would impact and it seemed insignificant.Overall a cheap, easy modification that will make a noticeable difference in everyday driving. Highly recommended.

Wow. I installed this on my 2010 Legacy GT last night and am amazed by the part quality, instructions, and improvement in shifter feel. I was a bit skeptical how much this would help but it’s night and day. I did also put the washers on which provided an additional improvement. They’re pretty annoying to install and did have to use my magnet. This coupled with the brass shifter bushing and short shift adapter have made really improved my least favorite part of my Legacy. I put the bushings and short shift adapter in a long time ago. Now I can’t wait to take it for a ride and see how much better these shifts feel on the road.

Installed on my 2020 WRX after about 7k miles on the factory setup.Was incredibly easy to install. Adjusting took a little fiddling (kept wanting to hang on the shift gate for 1st), but once dialed in on both shift stops, so much nicer shifting now.Did this in conjunction with the Perrin brass bushing for the linkage connection, and the combination turned a sloppy factory setup into a nice, tight driving experience. Absolutely recommend, the amount of improvement for the money is amazing.

Works perfectly for my 2019 WRX. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to install, so make sure to watch before you try. It's pretty straightforward. Just take your time in adjusting the shifter stop to make sure you remove most of the slop. As you will also notice, make sure to be very careful while installing the washer so you don't drop it.It makes a big difference, as everyone will tell you. The shifting for 1st and 2nd is so much cleaner without the slop (side to side movement). Best modification you can do, plus very simple to do!

A little tedious to install

This is my third Perrin product I've installed in a week and I keep saying it: they make a hell of a good product. I'm relatively new to driving a manual but i'm slowly picking it up. while driving around i thought that maybe that shifts were slipping a lot or something funky was going on (or maybe i just suck). at any rate i bought this shifter stop to maybe help me out with it, as well as the brass bushing they sell. when i went to install the perrin shifter stop i realized that someone had already put one in! my car is used so it's not a surprise that it has a few modifications. what ended up making more sense ultimately was why my shifts were kinda sloppy to begin with: the part installed was a cheap knock off and had lost some of it's grip and was pretty loose. idk how that ended up happening but i decided to swap them because well... perrin. the knock off is actually pretty light, but is most likely an inferior metal compared to the perrin one. i tightened it down and took it for a spin and it was much more linear in movement. with the brass bushing and the shifter stop i feel much more confident moving between gears. i'm still learning but this has definitely improved my driving experience. I recommend buying this one and not a knock off, but maybe i'm a purist and would rather spend a few extra bucks on a more reliable product.side note: i have a 2018 and did not need to use the washers that were included to tighten everything up. it seems subaru has fixed that minor issue themselves at some given year.

Took a little while to get the shift stop in the place that I wanted but once it was setup, the shifting felt way more secure and confident. Didn't take out the 7mm nuts to place the washer and seems fine. Paired with the shifter bushing feels a lot better for around $60, very worth it.

If you're reading this and debating on buying it....just do it!!! NOW. It's priced so cheap, easy to install and takes the slop out...if you know, you know.
