Thickness means protection
I used them daily to play with my half puppy/half shark. The gloves are far more thick than any other brand I have used, and gave my fingertips excellent protection from pointy puppy teeth.Unfortunately the stitching on the fingers came loose after a month of play.I'm giving the full 5 starts because it wouldn't be fair to remove one star because of my procrastination in repairing the stitching. That was on me.I would recommend them.

Sturdy
Very sturdy, thick. Purchased for animal rescue. Haven’t used them yet, but I will feel confident when I do.

Ready for the next bird sitting job
Hi, I'm known in my area as the fur baby spoiler. I have one client who has a parrot that her mama calls "EVIL". After my first sitting job with her I had nips on every finger and up my arms. I wasn't happy! I got these and went to go do my job with this parrot. She nips at my fingers and arms the whole time I'm holding her, and I don't feel a thing. She's happy I'm not waving her off and I'm happy I'm not getting a bloodletting while doing my job. Now if they only made these for my ears. This bird is evil. I got the longer pair and they come to the bottom of my t-shirt sleeves, and I have pretty long arms. They are roomy for me. For a smaller person (Under 5' 8") I can see them being way to big. They are soft inside which is nice, I was worried about the seams irritating my skin.I can't speak to the durability of these as mine won't get regular daily use, however they are of good quality, and I can see them holding up for a while. I have clients with reptiles and rodents which these will also come in handy for as I am not fond of handling them, but I don't turn down a client. You do not have a lot of dexterity with them. A bigger person might, as they would be tighter.I'm happy with my gloves, my parrot nemesis is happy I'm not screaming at her, and my arms remained scar free from my last job. Good product in my opinion.

Works great for playing with our German Shepherd
I originally purchased the RAPICCA 16 Inches,932℉,Leather Forge/Mig/Stick Welding Gloves to play with our German Shepherd. I take medications that make my skin thin enough that I can bleed if our German Shepherd playfully bats my arm with her paw and a claw scratches me. Let's not talk about what bushes do to me. So, as soon as I bleed our dog's demeaner changes and she feels bad for hurting me. Yes, German Shepherds form a very strong loving bond with their owners if you treat them with love. Ours loves to play a game I call, "Touching Toes." I put on gloves and try to touch her toes and she growls, barks, and play bites me. Why this is fun for her I don't know but she LOVES it. In fact, she will grab a toy and look at me. If I ask her what she wants she bats at the gloves on the floor. Well, the first gloves I bought worked great but they weren't long enough to cover me arms so I bought these 22 inch gloves by the same company. The welding gloves are thicker but these gloves are longer and so far work great for the purpose of playing with our dog. I think the key word here is, "play." Would I use these gloves to protect myself from an angry German Shepherd out to harm me? NO, have you seen an angry German Shepherd before? If I had nothing else, yes I would, but a German Shepherd has a strong jaw and can inflict injuries if they want to. Would a German Shepherd puncture the glove? I don't know but you would leave with serious bruises and perhaps some injuries. I'm not the type to stick my hand or arm in the ground to pull out some animal nor would I trust these gloves to grab a snake or something else with sharp teeth. I personally think if you want to catch a squirrel in the house I'd call a professional. As other reviewers stated, there is better protection out there but you'll spend 3 to 4 times more money. If I tell my dog to stop, she stops, a squirrel doesn't take commands. I don't need these gloves to protect myself from man's best friend, I just need them so we can play together and nobody needs a Band-Aid. For my intended purpose I would buy them again. Sorry I can't answer the harder questions about wild animals but at least you have something to go by. Stay safe and play with your pets, they need your affection too.

Well made and held up exceeded my expectations
I brought these gloves for working in the small woods in the back yard I was concerned about copper head snakes ( didn’t I counter any) but there where a lot of wild vines with thorns so they worked well very pleased with the results . I bought a second pair.

They work!
I used these gloves to help me with a trapped and terrified feral cat. I could not have completed the rescue without them. She put up a great fight with claws and teeth, and while I could feel the pressure, she never punctured my skin or the gloves. Best investment for safe and humane animal care.
