I'm a little embarrassed. i'm 53 yrs. old. this bear is for me. do the arms have substance so i can feel hugged?

As others have said, please don’t feel weird about adopting a bear 🐻. Bears give us adults the same comfort as when we were little. I’m a 60y/o guy. I share my bear w/ grndtr, but Burt has loved all our fam. My wife gave me Burt 30 yrs ago. He’s been loved by one of us every single night. Well traveled, and even made it to TV once!

Is this a sitting bear only? OR do his legs move freely/dangle?

Legs and arms move freely/dangle. Very soft, my son loves him. Bear is a little smaller than I thought he would be.

My son really wants a cream bear (think "Vanilla") Is this bear cream-colored? It is hard to tell from the photo. He is really cute!

I just looked at mine and I'd say he is cream (not yellowish or dingy), very similar to the photo. I don't think I'd say he's the color of vanilla ice-cream, though, he's a bit darker than that. In the photo, it looks like he has a light above him so his color varies a little in the photo, but I'd say he's closest to the color of his paws in the photo.He's a very cute bear in person, too.

is it machine washable? any that are?

I own 3 Gund Teddy bears (each of my kids have one) and they do really well in the wash. Just wash it on Delicate cycle and when drying, throw in a towel or two to help pull the water out. These bears hold up VERY well!
