Slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues
I am not new to the use of essential and carrier oils, but using sea buckthorn oil was a new experience for me even though I had read about its use in nourishing the tissues in your skin and body and that it had a long history in regional folk medicines dating back thousands of years. While I already have self made oil and lotion blends that I use for facial and body skin that I am very happy with, I am always open to learning new things and improving on what's there. So I was really curious and attracted to sea buckthorn due to its healing and rejuvenating effects on the skin and wanted to give it a try. I saw this product on Amazon and since US Organic Group wasn't a supplier that I was familiar with I had to research first before I was willing to purchase something that I was planning to use on my skin. I realize that reviews are not meant to be about manufacturer, but the manufacturer plays a key role for me in something like essential oils. One thing that swayed me in giving this manufacturer a try is not only because the product certified organic, but also that their products are 100% cruelty free. If you do a little further searching you will find that this company seems to have wellness in their DNA with affiliations to some other interesting organizations. The oil itself has what I would call a deep amber or red orange color and viscous. It has a bit of a musky scent to it, although you can't really smell unless you hold it up directly to your nose. It can stain your skin, especially if you fail to dilute sufficiently. However, this is temporary and washes off easily. It's a great exfoliator, skin cleanser and good for healing the skin. There have actually been studies done which show that daily use helps slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues. What's there not to love about that!My facial skin is extremely sensitive and I have gotten to the point that I will know almost immediately if my skin likes what I am putting on it or not. I know some people may think that I am a little nuts, but it's true in my case. The reason I bring this up, is that when I used this product in my blend and apply it to my face, I can feel my skin reacting positively. This is a very concentrated oil, and I recommend that you use sparingly. Also make sure that you dilute with a good carrier oil. There are a number of other essential oils that are good for your skin which you can add in your blend such as carrot seed, rose hip, lavender, frankincense, geranium and others. I can't tell you what blend works best in your particular case as everyone is unique. There are a lot of good articles that will help you get started. Whatever blend/s you come up with, I do recommend you include sea buckthorn given its ability to promote skin hydration, regeneration and elasticity, and even helps treat acne.

Great quality oil
I have been cleansing my face with oil for a couple of months and I ordered this oil to add to my cleanser. It has a bright orange color with very little smell. It will turn the skin a yellowish color but doesn’t stain and easily wipes off. I ordered it because I read that Seabuckthorn berry oil can help break up oils on the face and reduce break outs. It has worked perfectly for my needs after several trials and errors. It can be drying to the skin so I had to figure out the correct amount for me. My face cleanser recipe:1/2 cup organic olive oil1/2 cup fractionated coconut oil1 tsp sea buckthorn berry oil1 tsp argan oil4 drops frankincense essential oil1 drop lavender essential oil2 drops helichrysum essential oilMix in bowl and pour into dispenser of your choice (I use an amber glass spray bottle). Rub for 1-2 minutes into dry skin and remove with a very warm, wet washcloth. This recipe has kept my skin moist and hydrated through the winter months and has also kept my rosacea in check!

i love this oil
i love this oil. it's messy. it stains your face and your pillow case. it makes you look orange for a while but it clears your skin up, i swear my pores are getting smaller and my wrinkles are at least not getting any worse and possibly they are getting better. i have been using the oil for a month. i does come out of pillow cases and clothes (at least so far). it will be in my life for the rest of my life.

Found it effective after a few days.......but beware the yellow stain.
This stuff actually works (on your hands, at any rate) after you use it for a few days. Stains your skin yellow for a while, though. Unwieldy by itself; strongly suggest you add it to a good hand (or face) creme.

Good stuff!
This is a great product. I put it in a "Sun Harmonizing Serum" with other oils that I took on vacation to help me slowly get some color (I am extremely fair complected). It served its purpose, and my skin just drinks it up.I also mix it with jojoba oil and apply to my face nightly. Mixed with antibacterial essential oils, it keeps breakouts at bay, and gives my face a light layer of color. This is heavily naturally pigmented, which indicates carotenes. It leaves an orange "stain" which seems to disappear and leave a nice glow after rubbing it into my face.

Excellent Product
Very high quality potent product. A little goes a long way which is understand considering the product is red and will stain if too much is used. I like to mix this as a toner for my face of witch hazel, this product, and Matcha green tea powder. It has a cinnamon scent if thats what you like. Works wonderfully!!!!
