Very wide-ranging grammar book from beginner to intermediate level. Useful as a revision/ accompaniment to learning.Would not recommend it solely for learning new grammar since it is not that thorough ; there’s generally only a double page spread per topic.There are many written and audio exercises and lots of opportunities for self- evaluation. Great for practising and brushing up on long-forgotten Grammar!

Clear explanations, love the listening add on to the grammar descriptions. Usually good exercises. My class has found it useful.

With this exercise book, you learn via listening, reading and writing. However, I wouldn't rely on this book to be the only way to learn french. The whole book is in french so requires you to have some basic understanding of the language to understand what they are explaining- this includes the beginner level- A1 (not sure how that works).The general format is one page to explain the grammar and the next page is for exercises. So if you need more practice on important concepts or more difficult areas you will have limited practice. Also some exercises you do aren't covered in the explanation page- e.g. ch22 p66-67. It doesn't explain the difference of when you would use 'a' and 'de' but only when you need to use either. This meant I had to google this up.
