Beautiful Movie
What a great movie depicting a legend in golf history. Jim Caviezel did an amazing job as the title character. The costumes were accurate for the time period and beautifully done. As were the locations where it was shot. Appropriate for all ages.

See it even if you don't like golf!
This movie seems a bit magical rather than serious realism. I think that's why I loved it. I appreciate stories of people who triumph in life despite physical pain and high pressure from relationships. Jim Caviziel captured the essence of who Bobby Jones was, from what I've read. The character highlights of these people were emphasized rather than just a gritty reality of dog-eat-dog in the world of golf touraments (and all other pro/amateur sports for that matter). The friendship shown in the movie were real. The music helped win me over too. Jones' ties to Scotland and The Open weren't something made up for the movie. To move someone to engage emotionally in a movie, great music aids this process. Should have won an Oscar for the music and the cinematography. It's different than The Greatest Game Every Played, which is also a great movie for different reasons. Even if you don't like golf, you'd like the movie because it's about the man and his dream.

Golf, the way it should be played!
Love Bobby Jones and Jim Caveziel was the perfect actor to play him! Bobby Jones was a man of great character! He preferred to remain an amateur golfer because amateur denotes “love” and he knew his love for golf was greater than his love of money! This is a DVD that is timeless. It makes a great gift for any golfer or anyone who likes golf. Women will like it because of the respect Bobby has for women and especially the tenderness he showed when his girlfriend felt she was not in his “class”.

A Good Old Fashioned Flick
I loved this movie. Jim Caviezel did it again. I guess it made more of a homerun with me because he had a slow debilitating disease, so I could relate to it perfectly. But aside from that, I think he hit on the true person of who Bobby Jones really was - a genuine, good person who gave his best to himself, the game, and his fans. Despite his degenerative health, he gave his life to his family, both immediate and married families. He pursued what he loved with every ounce of passion and decidedly chose the path of being an amateur instead of a professional. I loved the resilience he portrayed despite any misgivings he may have had during the course of his life. I wish I were more like that. This is a great film - watch it!

A great story well told
Really enjoyed this. The era is evoked beautifully and justice is done to one of golf's absolute greats, some would say greatest. His life story is remarkable enough without being 'Hollywood-ized' and thankfully this film seems to stay very close to the facts.

A well executed picture of one of the greatest golf players of all times
The story in mild colours of Mr. Robert Jones Jr., graduated in engineering and English literature, then lawyer, not least amateur unrivalled golf player.Very pleasant for a nice couple of hours with the family, well executed for those who love golf and nice golf courses (great photography). Maybe it lacks a bit of depth but still I recommend it

basically because I love what I call my True Life Inspirational collection
I found this a highly watchable film despite not being a golfer, basically because I love what I call my True Life Inspirational collection. This is a tale of true life from a bygone sports era (the 1930s) and I enjoyed a real buzz of excitement from seeing how this young talent rose & made himself a special place in the game. A good family film and a confidence builder for anyone (young people, especially) who are trying to achieve excellence in a sport or other activity.

Booby Jones dont miss it
Really good film about the Golfing life of Bobby Jones and the other amateur and Pro Golfers he competed against.Hard to put 25+ years of someones life into and hour and a half but this film does it beautifully.I am now going to buy his autobiography to learn more about this remarkable man.

A Must Watch for Golf Fans
Well made and acted movie for golf fans .Set quite accurately throughout although it appeared to me that some British trains were running in the USA. Well worth a look if a little long but then again sports films are quite difficult to make.
