Wholesale Chess Triple Weighted Pieces and Mousepad Board Chess Set (Blue)

I brought this to a big tournament recently and received many compliments! I had always used vinyl roll-up boards but decided to give this mousepad-style board a try. It’s great! Stays completely flat no matter how much it gets bent. Doesn’t warp over time. The texture of the board is a nice soft fabric that the pieces glide easily on. Easy to clean too. Also, the chess pieces themselves are perfectly weighted, they do not feel cheap at all. Convenient for travel with the included quiver-style carrying bag - I wish the bag had an extra strap for holding a clock or scorebook, but that’s just nitpicking! Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this to any one looking for an affordable, high quality chess set for travel or tournaments!

OK, that old cliche’, “I don’t write reviews” going here. Well, I think this is truly the first one I’ve written. For the price of this set I was really expecting a cheap feel to the plastic and a few loose weights here and there based a few of the reviews. I was super leery, thinking “Hey!, if I don’t like the feel or quality, I bought it from Amazon ~ I can just send it back.” THIS SET ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE! There are no loose weights and the pieces feel extremely solid. Yes they’re plastic, but as soon as you pick them up you forget that fact and want to just get to playing. At any rate, I’m super impressed, and the mouse pad mat feels and looks good too. Additionally, the zipper on the archer bag and the bag itself are well constructed, so this set will last a long time and unless you’re stuck on getting a wooden set, you absolutely can’t go wrong with this one. Great quality.

The pieces are HEAVY and solid, not prone to tipping over and fit very comfortably in the hand. The white king weighed in at 53.2 grams, which would make all the pieces together around 3.5 - 4.5 lbs, and they feel very confident, would highly recommend for blitz or very fast paced play. The mat is also a heavy duty mousepad material, no wrinkles or bunching up whatsoever, if you're looking for a weighted set without spending higher amounts of money for craftsmanship, this is the chess set you want. The only reason why the craftsmanship isn't five stars is because of the case, which works perfectly fine probably, but it doesn't exactly fit all the pieces in very effectively due to the tubular shape. Certainly not a reason NOT to buy this set over any other, I'd just think about storage alternatives at some point.

I think if you are going to purchases a (+-) $30 chess set you should expect it to be just that and if you get more than expected than great! I very much enjoy this set for exactly what it's intended purpose is. If you want a level of quality while still not being worried about if something gets dinged this is the chess set. Everything came to me as described, nothing broken, pieces were heavier than normal as described, and mouse pad was perfect as well. Some pieces do rattle a little with the weight however I will be able to fix this, and even if I didn't it's NOT a big deal. If someone is complaining that this set isn't up to their standards I would avoid that type of individual because they most likely b*tch just to hear themselves b*tch. I would gift this set, proudly play with friends and family, and travel with it.

This is a phenomenal chess board and pieces. The pieces are very well weighted and the mousepad board is great quality. I also concur with other reviews the quiver bag they provide for the set is very sub optimal and is the only draw back to this set. I ended up purchasing tournament bag that holds board, pieces, clock and pencils/pens for note taking. If the manufacturer could fix the bag this would be one of the best sets you could buy for the money.

I bought this chess set for my brother for his birthday. The pieces are plastic and weighted. Weighted pieces are very important in a travel chess set, because they won’t move around in the wind or if the board is bumped. The board is made from the same material that mouse pads are made from, which means you can roll up the board and when it’s time to play again, it rolls out flat with no creases or wrinkles. The case is made from canvas and has a quality zipper and a nylon carry strap and handles. I highly recommend this chess set if you’re looking for a good quality travel chess board for yourself and as a gift.

Pieces have nice proportion for the board and I love the weight. The mousepad board is far superior to the the vinyl ones. Everything fits nicely into the carrying case but don't try to put the pieces in a separate bag inside. They won't fit that way. You just have to put them in loosely to fit. Using this set I increased my rating by 100 points. Oh, and I exchanged the blue board for a green one. Just a matter of taste.

Absolutely love this board. The good thing about a “mouse pad” board is that it doesn’t crease or become warped, no matter how long it’s in the bag. The bottom is rubberized, which means it won’t move around during play, and it looks as clean as a whistle (not to mention it’s super easy to clean). Chess is a major part of my life, so being able to carry a board with me on the go makes a huge difference. The pieces are exactly what as described as well. They’re heavy, and feel as such. I believe they are filled with sand at the tips. All in all, this a good buy, whether you play chess professionally or not. I’d pay even more if they asked, that’s all I have to say.

A really nice set of chess pieces (decent weight, shape and size), board and bag. A very good value for money, especially in the UK. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys playing chess!

everything is as expected, arrived quicker than expected. intact and quite satisfied with this purchase. will def recommend to others looking for a solid feel to their pieces and a portable playing surface.

Beautiful feels high quality

The weights inside the pieces made a noise when shook, the mold seams were very visible and rough, and the mat was coming apart at one corner.
