Amazing Speakers, Great Value!
These are outstanding speakers. I was prepared to spend over $3000 for new speakers. I'm really critical when it comes to sound. I've spent a lot of money over the years on high end equipment but I just purchased a new Sony 4k 65" TV and, even though it was expensive, I really thought I'd spend even more on new speakers. After looking at and listening to a lot of different speakers I kept coming back to these Sony's. I liked the specs and the reviews were very good, I usually take a lot of reviews with a grain of salt. Even though I couldn't listen to these speakers anywhere locally, I thought, what the heck, I'll start with the fronts and see what they sound like. I said to myself, if they are decent I'll get the bookshelfs for the rears. If I didn't like them I'd send them back and start over. I ordered 2 but for some reason they were shipped from different locations so the second was delayed by a couple of days due to the holidays. The first one came and I immediately could tell I was going to like what I was hearing. So I ordered the rears. Once again, I loved the sound from the rears. I was so impressed by the fronts and rears that I now ordered the sub woofer. I ended up replacing all my Mirage Speakers with these Sony's. I've never taken Sony seriously when it came to speakers, I always liked their video equipment but sound wasn't something they've been known for until now. Sony has really stepped up their game with these. They are crisp, well balanced, bring out very fine details in just about everything I've thrown at them. I've been streaming lossless audio using Tidal HiFi audio in both FLAC though my AppleTV, and ALAC through my Sony reciever. I've enjoyed listening to Tidal on my headphones but I'm loving even more hearing it through these speakers. In general, for the price, style, build quality, and sound you can not go wrong with buying these. If you buy these, make sure you spend time placing them and also adjusting all your equipment to bring out the most you can. I'm very happy with these speakers. It makes watching my new TV even more enjoyable than I ever expected.

Astonishing sound stage and detail, bass is slightly lacking.
Wow these speakers are nothing short of astonishing. First time I turned them on I nearly cried, I cannot beleive a tower costing $100 can produce such an immense enveloping sound stage with such resolution and clarity. Completely blown away. Honestly, I feel like with these towers surround sound is not even needed, that's how amazing the sound stage is. I started with a set of two micca mb42x and the matching center channel. Those speakers produce great detail and what I considered at the time to be great sound stage, however they produced very little bass and didn't quite have enough oomph to fill the room. I ended up replacing the miccas with these and putting the miccas as rear surrounds. Now I am getting immense room filling sound and I have a new definition of what good sound stage is. These towers can produce a decent amount of bass, but only if you have the ability to turn up the bass on your amplifier. Seems about a 5db bass boost is works best in my situation. If you have good room acoustics it might be better but getting a sub is a must of you like lots of bass. I use a Dayton audio sub-800 which really adds some good low end to round out the system. I would not recommend any of the cheap subs on Amazon, instead get the Dayton audio sub-800 or sub-1000 on Parts Express. They both cost about $100 and are much better than any of the $100 subs on Amazon. Over all love these towers, highly recommend! EDIT: After about a month of daily use I have found the bass seems to have improved quite a bit. I can now whole heartedly recommend using these without a sub.

The Final Piece to my Home Theater Setup
I have the entire Sony speaker set for my living room home theater. I’m by no means an audiophile but I consider myself an enthusiast of good quality audio that fits a modest price point. With that being said, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Having the complete set along with a Sony receiver makes the home theater look good without being gaudy or too in-your-face. I’ve read multiple reviews about these tower speakers and watched several YouTube videos about other peoples’ experience with them. If you are concerned about the speakers being too short as I’ve read in some reviews and seen on a few YouTube videos just get some end tables to raise them off the floor or perhaps make something yourself. I have these towers as both my front right and left channel to complete my surround setup and I am very pleased with the audio quality. Upon watching a particular video, I saw one reviewer state that for the best sound quality for the speakers to place them approximately 10” away from the wall where you wish to place them. This might limit some people depending on the layout of your living quarters but if the room is available I say do it! Overall with the build quality and audio for these towers I would definitely purchase these again. I have the speakers about 12-16” off the ground and 10” away from the wall and they sound awesome. I got a pair of these for ≈$300 and for the price I honestly don’t think you can beat it.

Nice sounding speakers at reasonable volume
I bought these speakers because they had fairly good reviews from reputable sources and because they were exactly the right size and configuration for my needs. A word of warning on reviews, many didn't even have the speaker dimensions right, so they probably never had them in hand to test them. One reviewer said these were the best towers for audiophiles, LOL. For the record, the Sony SS-CS3 tower speakers cabinets are 7" wide, 7.75" deep with the grills on, and 35" high. The foot plate (base) is 9" wide, 10.25" deep, and adds 1.25" to the height. The base is screwed and glued to the cabinet. I found these Sony towers to be nice sounding speakers, both in my music room and in my home theater set up. Music is fairly clear from high to low, with no irritating frequencies. Initially they sounded muddy/distorted but definitely improved after a few hours, and I think they are still getting better. They are not as musical at all volumes as my reference speaker system (large bookshelfs-subwoofer combo which I prefer). They are more directional than my reference system; with the Sonys next to my ARs, I can tell which speakers the sound is coming from; the ARs are much more transparent. That said, when I moved the Sonys into my home theater set up, that directional issue became improved separation for the surround sound. For music, I had to experiment with angle, height, and tilt, to get the best sound for me in my room, which will be different for everyone. I did not play them at you-have-to-yell-to-be-heard volume and above, but I suspect a subwoofer would be needed to avoid distortion at high volumes. That's not to say these don't play bass well. Mid bass is very nice, and at reasonable volumes, even very low notes are sweet. Not thumping, but not distorted. Though the Sonys aren't as full and clean as my reference set up, I would probably choose them over bookshelf speakers alone because of their bass response. Personally, if I needed speakers for music and my budget was about 300, I'd go with the Sony SS-CS5 bookshelves and a Dayton Audio 10" sub instead of the towers. But to get a truly better sounding speaker system I think you'd have to spend at least twice as much.

Best of the Best
I bought these five years ago, the two 3' tall towers with a subwoofer and Sony bluetooth receiver. In a time in which the market is flooded with garbage products, I wanted something in my living room that could easily double as both my TV speakers and to play music from my phone (via sony bluetooth receiver). I am just thrilled and overwhelmingly happy with them. They fill up my living room with booming and clear sound. I rarely have any reason to bring the volume past 5 (out of 10). If I really wanted to irritate my neighbors I could, but these shake the walls and the sound is always crisp, the bass is always booming (unless I lower the bass via the receiver). Couldn't be happier. Sony did not disappoint with these!

High-quality and powerful
They're fairly tall but are a discrete design and aren't too tall or small. They provide high quality directional sounds that I'm able to tell apart where it's coming from almost similar to headphones. Definitely worth the money when on sale especially. It sounds like the movie or game is playing there itself. But as much as they're nice they are not entirely meant to impress with bass, not to say it doesn't have good bass at certain frequencies but pushing it can be noticable when nearing fuller power. Definitely makes a great addition to your set of speakers as they give clear vocals and detail that bookshelf's alone are unable to mimick fully. Package will come as is in it original box just to be mindful as this can be potentially be in view if unable to pickup immediately after it being dropped off.

Very nice mid-cost speakers
I like the sound quality. I do not like that they sell them not as a pair, but one speaker. I had to get another shipped because I did not see the word "single", as most the pictures show two speakers. Thank you, Amazon, for hearing my concern when I called customer service. I have them set up in our main guest room and our guest will enjoy great music as I have it hooked up to a nice Bluetooth receiver plus a CD player. Does not need a sub-woofer in my opinion for the guest bedroom - 14' X 16' as a reference.

Great speakers just remember these are per speaker.
These sound great the rest of my home theater is all from the matching Sony core series of speakers, and I rotated the Bookshelf speakers I had to the back replacing the last HTIB speakers I had. The price is for a single speaker so yes you can get two of the bookshelf speakers for the price of one of these, but you will need stands, and if you're picky about the stands you'll end up paying almost the same price between the speakers and the stands. I had 2 of the Bookshelf SSCS5 speakers and they're also great, but they do not sound quite as full as these do. Tested with John Wick earlier today, and everything was crystal clear no mater what speaker the sound was coming from. Additional advice to those starting with lower end speakers or starting from an HTIB. Upgrade your center channel, and front speakers first, and maybe start with the SSCS5 instead of the Floor standing speakers because you'll notice less difference overall from upgrading your rear speakers. That being said if you have a set of these and HTIB speakers for rears you will notice something lacking in the rear channels. So when you're ready to add the floor standing speakers in hopefully you've already got the book shelves on stands from when they were your fronts. Now you just move those to the rear, and you have a really nice sounding overall surround sound system.

Super bocinas a super precio.

Gracias.
