This is a great way to have black licorice, because the other ingredients balance it out well - both in flavor and texture. Black licorice has to be eaten in moderation, so this is a good way to lower consumption with the candy that's wrapped around it (or inside of it). When the second ingredient listed is treacle (molasses), that's a good sign. It's fairly low sugar compared with many other treats. I especially love the circular ones, where I can enjoy the way the coconut influences the texture. It also has coconut oil and gelatin, which are actually good for my aging body (also, you'll want to take note of that if you're avoiding animal products). Natural colors and flavors are always a good thing. Freshness - very fresh. Quality - kept me coming back for more! Size - best one for the money, like all things in bulk. Chewability - very pleasing, wonderful to chew. A little on the firm side, which I enjoy. Let me sum it up with the fact that I HAD to get more!! My only issue is that they are so good that I have to make sure to eat a protein bar first, so that I don't overindulge in them.

I've purchased these candies several times. I've never gotten a bag of candy that was "hard" or disgusting. They come in a very thick, heavy-duty sealed plastic bag. If people received really hard or stale candies, maybe it's an issue with the seller. Not the quality of the product. I agree, the price is too high. I don't like the bitter black, long, cylinder-shaped pieces of licorice all too generously added to the bags of candies. They are a bad contrast and differ from the licorice that is attached to the candy pieces. I might recommend to the candy manufacturer not to overwhelm the bag with so many of those bitter pieces. The coconut is chewy and sweet, and goes well with the licorice sandwiched between the colorful coconut slices, or stuck in the middle of a circular piece of candy. Other brands of candies of this sort do not come in 2-pound bags. They are just as pricey and in smaller quantities. I would give five stars if there weren't so many of those cylindrical, bitter pieces of licorice.

It makes me so sad to advise you against purchasing this candy. The first two bags I bought were so delicious. The candy was soft and chewable with wonderful flavors. The third bag I got was horrible. Everything was rock hard, most of it inedible. I was so disappointed. But then I got to thinking that had to be a fluke. Try again because the first two were so good. Well the fourth was not as bad as the third. It was hard and stale...

The licorice is not good quality in this. The texture is like a yoga mat, and instead of being soft and chewy, it is like a stale gummy. I tossed my bag after trying all the different pieces and finding none enjoyable. Don't get this if you are craving good licorice.

These are the closest thing to the licorice allsorts I know. Recommend. Wallaby brand awful. Licorice is has neon colors (never for the genuine type) and taste/ feel like plastic.
