WORTHLESS for Hitachi - Great for a drill or router (except for the label)
THE SHORT:Buy the Westek 6089B 500W Full Range Foot Control Dimmer, Black for ~$13 instead. Works MUCH better, half the price, and you can control it with your foot, when your hands are busy. The Westek Also functions as a 5ft extension cord for the Hitachi.THE LONG:* One star for "as-sold-for" controlling a Hitachi Magic Wand use.**** Four stars for use as a shop motor speed controller. This is a re-labeled speed control for a wood router or other shop motor, capable of controlling a 15 amp (1800w) electric motor. Aside from the Trinity Vibes label, it actually appears identical to the router speed controller sold by Harbor Freight. The Speedster Fan Speed Control And it is the same price that HF sells it for. Plug a drill or a router into it, and it works just fine. Brushless-motor fans work, but they hum audibly at lower speeds. The problem is, the Hitachi Magic Wand is 0.15 amp (20w) motor. This means, with the speed control all the way up, plugging the Hitachi into it on variable speed loses 15%-20% of the Hitachi's high speed, and a TINY turn of the dial takes the Hitachi down WAY below its low speed. It's not a bad product - it is just totally unsuitable for the advertised use.

Works well; Hitachi surcharge
This is literally just a router speed controller, from Harbor Freight, with Hitachi-specific silkscreening. You're paying about a $5 premium for that blue ink. But it works, and it works well, because an old Hitachi is just a motor in the same way a router is just a motor.

Great concept, mediocre delivery
The magic one has quite a kick. My beautiful partner said that it was a bit fast. This promised some speed reduction and did deliver but it’s tricky. I would think it would be smoother in the throttle curve. other than that, it works well.

Much more control
I bought it as a gift. My girlfriend says that it gives FAR more control than simply a switch and has increased her pleasure with her Hitachi wand 100% Well worth it.

Gotta use the right settings
Those that say it doesn’t work were likely using the wrong settings. The Hitachi has to be on max setting and the Speed Controller has to be in the on position. Then you get very good control over intensity. If not using those settings it does nothing. My wife and I absolutely loves this thing. I was tweaking away on the knob like revving an engine and she made some noises I’d never heard out of her before.

Bulky but functional
Does a decent job of acting like a dimmer and giving more control over the speed of vibrations. There really isn't much different from low-high and high-high though. Don't know why they have three settings on the rocker switch too. The neutral position turns the hitachi wand off and the right position turns multi-speed off in which case why would you plug it into this controller. My only complaint is that this thing is really bulky although it is light. The extension cord is nice and it is heavy-duty but I don't know if it is necessary, it's heavier than the box so my controller will occasionally slip off the bed. FYI the wand actually plugs to the same side as the extension cord and not opposite side. You can actually see it on the picture, that flat part in the bottom right. Overall I'd say it does what it advertises although it is far from being 'slick'.
