#1 New York Times bestseller "This brilliant book will shatter your assumptions about what it takes to improve and succeed. I wish I could go back in time and gift it to my younger self. It would've helped me find a more joyful path to progress." -Serena Williams, 23-time Grand Slam singles tennis champion The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Again illuminates how we can elevate ourselves and others to unexpected heights. We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distances we ourselves can travel. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door. Hidden Potential offers a new framework for raising aspirations and exceeding expectations. Adam Grant weaves together groundbreaking evidence, surprising insights, and vivid storytelling that takes us from the classroom to the boardroom, the playground to the Olympics, and underground to outer space. He shows that progress depends less on how hard you work than how well you learn. Growth is not about the genius you possess – it’s about the character you develop. Grant explores how to build the character skills and motivational structures to realize our own potential, and how to design systems that create opportunities for those who have been underrated and overlooked. This book reveals how anyone can rise to achieve greater things. The true measure of your potential is not the height of the peak you’ve reached, but how far you’ve climbed to get there. Review: Good read. - A good read excellently put together. Review: Ok, felt like it was missing something when compared to previous books - It is worth reading, but its not something that will massively change my approach or how I work. But, some interesting ideas that will enable me to make a few minor changes. Not life changing stuff.

You must read this if you wish to unlock your true potential
My first book by Adam Grant and it is one of the best books I've read about learning and unlocking potential. Full of examples from the unlikelies scenarios to show the power of learning and achieving greater things with it. I was hooked from reading the prologue before the content of the book itself . That is how good this book is.

Inspiring book
The author tries to cover extensive topics on this book, which are normally quite difficult to explain. Worth reading, it's truly inspiring.

Some great takeaways, but a tough read.
I got some amazing insights from this book. This made it a worthwhile purchase and I’m glad I stuck it out to finish it. For me though it wasn’t a page turner. It took over 6 months to finish.

No real substance
The amount of padding in this book was really annoying - pages and pages about a baseballer who changed his technique when I got the point several pages earlier. I also was turned off by reams of information about how we could all become fluent in several languages like Benny Lewis. Except that anyone who has read anything about Benny Lewis knows that his definition of 'fluent' is basically being able to continue interacting, whether intelligible or not. He's not an inspiration for one wanting to become a polyglot. Then a yawnsome chapter about education in Finland and another about hiring practices. If you're not an educator or in HR it's irrelevant.

HIDDEN POTENTIAL

loved this book! practical principles to bring to life
This book is NOT about setting huge goals and dreams and trudging forward. It’s about developing character, being better than we were before, and coaching others to do the same. Adam writes so beautifully - he has distilled his ideas into beautiful nuggets. His personal stories showcase his humility and courage, as well as those of the others he shares in the book. Highly recommended if you want to set big goals and have the courage to follow through.

This book changed the way I want to learn and help others!
Adam’s perspective on learning a new skill or changing a behaviour was mind blowing. He gives practical guidance for how to move forward in life by continually growing our capacity to learn. Absolutely loved it, I paid my sons to read it!
