Need to cut 0.5" thk x 3" wide pieces 20" long with perfect square ends horiz and vert...chop saws & mitre boxes imprecise...will this do it???

If your mitre gauge slot has no tabs and is standard size yes, if has tabs no

The slots on my saw are 5/8 in or .65mm is it going to work? i’m confused by the q/a session here.

The bar is a standard 3/4 inches, so I doubt it.

Is this made out of MDF, particle board, or plywood?

It's made of (maybe high density) MDF with coat on the surface

How much of the maximum cutting depth of my saw would be lost due to this sled? (What's the thickness of the floor of the sled?)

This is for small parts. You can’t bring the blade up any higher then the blue metal bars across the top of the sled anyway, so you don’t need to worry about the thickness of the floor limiting your cut. Your cut is limited by the top bar on the sled. Without measuring (not at home now) I’d say about 1-1/2” is the limit.
