Good sound, poor build or damaged
As an owner of Vifa Helsinki, I decided to step up the game and get a bigger brother from Vifa’s line. The speaker produces good sound quality. However, it arrived damaged with a dent. The power button at the back is loose and doesn’t strike confidence it will be durable. The front LED is oddly shaped. Either poor build/QA on the factory, or damaged in shipping or sold damaged.

Small Box, Big warm sound
Excellent speaker in both performance and functionality. I would heartily recommend it, well worth the price. Keep it on neutral setting, placement anywhere, and it fills the room with good old fashioned Hi fidelity loveliness... Go on,do it, you know you want to..

Great sounding speaker let down by poor software
I didn't buy this via Amazon as I found it cheaper at the hi-fi concession in Selfridges! However, £599 seems to be the normal online price. These are quite rare speakers, you won't find them in many retail outlets. The company that makes them 'Vifa' are a Danish outfit that has been manufacturing high-quality speaker drivers used by many of the worlds top speaker brands since 1933. They have recently branched out and now make their own range of premium quality speakers.Let me start by saying that the android software app (Vifa Home) that links to this speaker is awful. If I had not been a computer geek I would have sent this speaker back after the first day as I initially found it impossible to stream Spotify connect over my wi-fi network to this speaker. Spotify connect normally works first time on devices such as this, which are certified as compatible.I eventually managed to connect my computer directly to the web address of this device and downloaded the latest firmware update via the internal webpage on the device. I would think 99% of users would not have a clue how to do this. The support pages said firmware updates should have been possible via the app. But they were not. Once the new firmware was downloaded everything connected fine via the android app and I could use this speaker to stream from Spotify.Once up and running, the sound quality is very high end and impressive. Very impressive! It's balanced, detailed and transparent. For such a relatively small speaker (but is 5kg in weight) the sound stage and separation is precise and engaging. You hear details in the music that just don't get resolved on an average wireless speaker. There is no artificial bass such as you get with Bose speakers. I've played all types of music from hard rock, jazz-funk to hip-hop to classical and all sound wonderful. The sound quality is akin to a good £800 separates system. With the convenience of being in one unit and portable! If the software had been better I'd have given a 5-star review. The sound quality is 5 star for the price. Hopefully, they will improve the software in future iterations!
