if it breaks from the 3.0 jack which is soldered to the motherboard say goodbye to all your picture and video memories, mine was pulled by my 3 year old and broke the jack and YOU CAN"T just switch cases, they made sure to only get help from WD.

Our house has the old Dish VIP211K receivers, which are being replaced by the newer Hopper receiver. We prefer to hang on to our old 211's a while longer. The DVR function on these units have (in the past) required a 2TB hard drive with a separate DC power supply. They are almost impossible to find now. To my delight I tried this one and it works great, Plus it is smaller and less expensive than the other one. I will buy a couple more for back ups.

Perfect for what I wanted it for. I have only had it a week but have downloaded all my iTunes movie purchases and tv shows and music onto it easily from my new Lenovo PC. Leaves me all of the 1 Terrabyte of memory the computer came with and now I can bring movies anywhere I want. Tech support I did not mark stars for because I had no interaction with them as the device was simple to use. If it breaks or becomes unusable within a few months I will update my review but it has and does everything I bought it for and I got it for $69 in a bundle package.

when I chose to not allow the software to provide feedback to WD the software would not load - then I chose to allow them to receive info , then the software loaded. That's a weird coincidence, isn't it? I don't trust the setup of the software. Perhaps this has got something to do with the 'age ofsur·veil·lance capitalism'?
