I decided to give IcyHot a try on my back after dealing with an injury that just refused to heal. I’d been using lidocaine patches and gel, which do help, but I was curious about the whole “icy” and “hot” thing. And thankfully, it really does what it says. First you get that cool, almost refreshing icy sensation, and then it slowly shifts into a warm, soothing heat. For me, it’s been a solid pain reliever, not a cure, unfortunately, but definitely something that takes the edge off for a few hours. And for that alone, I think it’s worth having on hand. I also love the roll-on applicator. It’s super convenient and keeps everything mess-free. So yes, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants some reliable pain relief, as long as you’re not expecting a miracle fix.

Great stuff that rolls on easily and doesn't leave a strong odor and works immediately. I usually use a well-known lotion but this goes on much easier and works just as well

Works. When you apply the product, in a few moments, you will feel the menthol begin to provide the hot/cold sensation it is known for. Menthol is the active ingredient. One thing. You can also make a home made version of products that use menthol buy purchasing pure menthol, and adding it to a known oil, like coconut for example. Add a small amount to your favorite skin oil and gain the same effect. You can also add peppermint or eucalyptus oils too, But, having this in a Roll On is also great and easy to manage! Making your own is a bit of a mess, but saves money. Take a pick!

It was a lifesaver! My shoulder was killing me..and this was PERFECT. I was worried it was going to be like a generic lidocaine patch..but it was better. Strong and didnt have an overbearing smell. Definitely recommend

Personal Use: Having suffered from neck, shoulder, mid and lower back pain, I used to have used this roller almost everywhere. I also recently sprained my thumb rolled this all over my joint and palm, then wrapped an ace bandage to secure the thumb and palm. Worked great. I woudl say this helps will sorts of muscle/joint issues:Bursitis. tendonitis, strains, sprains, and any muscle tenderness or tightness. Personally, i mainly use it on neck and shoulder(trap muscle specifically), even have rolled up a little above the hair line to hit those muscles in my hairat base of my skull. Helps ease aches from sitting in front a of a pc for 10 hrs a day. Smell: Its strong to whiff from roller. And strong when you first roll on. But once a dries, its light and only noticeable if you hold nose close to skin. I work in an 10x12 office and no one notices it when they walk in. Personally, I love the smell so it doesn't bother me in the least. Downside(if any): Unless you've had the stuff on for 4+ hours, do not shower with hot water for at least 1-2 hour after application.. Your skin will feel like its on fire. Same with sweating. If you work out after work, do not put on after lunch. If you work out in the morning, put on after you shower. Another thing, which again i dont really feel is a downside but feel to mention, since i roll it on back of my neck and in my hair, it does make my pillow smell like icy hot (no staining though). I have rolled over in the middle of the night and opened my eyes and gotten a wave of methol hit my face and makes my eyes water. Bottom line... the stuff is potent.
