Since they flower on new growth each year, plants can be pruned each spring to any desired height. For grafted standard form, remove any shoots that sprout along the trunk during the growing season. Prune the stems that form the standard in early spring before new growth begins to the desired size and shape

Unsure of what I got.
I received them – but I think somehow the seeds were either mismarked or are not Rose of Sharon seeds. Unless these are labled wrong but I do not think so.I have several Rose of Sharon bushes that are various colors and wanted to add additional colors so that is why I chose the ones I did.The seeds I received are not Rose of Sharon. I save seeds from my plants every year and they look totally different from the ones sent to me.I sincerely do not believe I’ve received the right ones.Once they start growing & hopefully bloom I will then find out what it is that I’ve gotten and until then I will update my feedback accordingly.

Well worth the purchase
I was skeptical that many seeds would take... I have started many rose of sharon bushes with clippings from an existing but never by seed.I started germination of approximately half the seeds received and I would say 2/3 took.I took a paper towel and folded it in half, sticking it into a snap baggie. I lightly watered it using a water bottle with a capful of peroxide (suggested by a blogger to prevent mold which seemed to work much better) and hung it on my glass door. Within TWO days I had at least 3 ready to be moved to soil. I moved them to egg cartons where I used an ice pick to poke a hole and thread a paper towel through- one seedling per egg 'cup'. For the water catcher I used the top part of the carton. The ones with paper towels to siphon moisture to/from the seeds seemed to fair much better than the excess I put into cleaned yogurt containers without paper towels.I would say I have 7 more... I will have to come up with a place to put them! Wonderful seeds, thank you!!!I have since moved them to larger containers.

Nothing grew
I planted the seeds using different methods as there we no planting instructions included. The seller did not respond to my question about how to plant these seeds. Two of the seeds actually germinated and the plants grew to be about 1 inch tall before they just fell over and died. I have been planting seeds for over 25 years and this batch is by far the worst ever. Definitely a waste of time and money.

I planted these seeds this spring. Germination was good, and I ended up with two healthy plants that are growing very well. Thanks so much for the seed.

Most sprouted and then started dying. I now have one plant left that is about 18 inches tall and I am hoping to get one to survive and then fill in spaces on it's own. if I can get one to grow and reseed, then this was a good price as a 1 gallon plant is $20

They sprouted. Haven't flowered yet, but they sprouted, and that's all that matters to me.
