X~PWR-H5 18" All-Weather External Power Kit for GoPro HERO5, HERO6, HERO7 Black & Hero (2018) with 18" Cable

I grabbed a GoPro Hero 7 Black for the sole purpose of using as an FPV/POV cam while chin mounted to my dirtbike/motorcycle helmets.. We all know that GoPro battery life is terrible, so finding these X-POR-HS external power kits was great, and the fact that they retain the device's waterproofing ability was that much better! Fit / Form - Fantastic. Everything went together as it was intended to, and I've had zero issues with adhesion [as some others have mentioned] I've worked in the auto and customization world for so many years that I know how to 'properly' adhere and bond things. I can also confirm the authenticity of the "3M" branded tape - as I've used this same tape for over 15 years. Way too many other products/sellers are using knock-off / cloned '3M tape', and there is a HUGE difference between them.. Anyways.. On top of the product being great, I ran into an issue, and figured that Amazon support could help.. After being transferred between 2 or 3 departments and twice as many 'reps', the issue was not even close to being resolved.. I e-mailed the company: wrote and physically talked to the owner, and he was AMAZING to interact with! In fact, not only did he figure out the issue, but, went Above And Beyond to help out! Top Notch Customer Service!! Being in customer service myself - And knowing how other businesses / places conduct theirs, I can most definitely tell who's got it and who does not.. This company is fantastic, and most certainly believes in and stands behind their product, and their customers! BIG Thanks to Don! I can't recommend him and this product enough! I had to wire this to my rear brake light, as it'll kill your battery if you connect it directly to the battery. Reason is it's got a few led's in the plastic that lights up blue to show you it's powered. I attached the supplied looped ground directly to the battery, but had to attach a bit more wire to get the supplied lead to reach the rear light where I spliced in. I suppose you can wire to the headlight, or the starter, but for my bike the rear light was easier. I have a Triumph Tiger XC FYi. I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough to charge my ipad, but it seems to work when I plugged it in. Also iphone 5 works so win win.

The usb charger is a little bigger than I expected, almost as big as a half dollar if you remember those and about 3 inches deep. The supplied clamp didn't fit on my frame or bars on a 2011 Harley Sportster but I made a new mount and just connected it through the existing holes. It provides plenty of power and keeps my GPS going and a phone or MP3 player charged. The other reviewer said something about blue lights on the unit but mine does not have these, perhaps I got a different version, either way I always wire accessories to a switched output so the battery doesn't die. So far it has lived through a couple of days of good rain which is more than I can say about the last USB plug I bought for the bike so it gets an A+ in my book.

The quality of all the components is just fine, but the adhesive that is supposed to stick to the side of the GoPro case to hold down the cable is junk. It won't hold down a fly. I cleaned the surface and everything and it is junk. So if you get this just know that you will have to actually epoxy it to the GoPro case. Don't use super glue it will not stick. You have to cut into, drill the case, and drill into the component to give area for the epoxy hold. Don't cheap out , get JB Weld STEEL it will take 24 hrs for it to fully cure but once it does the case will break before the epoxy. Now that I have that on there I can use the case, and I bought a second one just to do this to, for times when I need extremely long battery life for the GoPro 7 black so I can have it connected to external power and retain the water tight seal.

I use this for my gopro that i attach tot he front of my golf cart. I have a usb i added to my cart and this runs right off of that so i dont have to change the battery so often. I do a lot of off roading and trails with my cart and this keeps the gopro sealed up and charged the entire time. Highly Recommended

Bought this item back in 2019 for my motorcycle. IT NEVER WORKED! Ive tried it in my truck,my car...and still nothing. I didnt modify a case,i purchased the case made for this poer supply....AND STILL NOTHING. Dont waste your money. It wont let me give it no stars..

Conection with cover for go pro is not very stable Cable is too short

Fast Shipping and good item. For my fishing video, I use Gopro Hero7 Black for long duration with the mobile battery. I didn't like that the door has to be opened to charge the battery in the moisture environment. But this is the one can solve the problem. Really nice item but 3M adhesive is too weak. You should consider to buy another stronger adhesive for its replacement.
