Great and beautiful set that shall enhance your quest for Zohar. Must have set.
This is by far the most detailed, clear, and beautiful edition of Zohar in English. The great visionary and scholar Rabbi Dr Berg has given the world the most accessible, yet the most scholarly rendition of this important texts. The coverings, the type-set, and the explanations are all top-notch. Merely having this beautiful volume in your home library is not only a pleasure, but very positive as your intellect is refined as you consult this magnificent volumes daily. There is no other edition of Zohar needed once you read this. Especially the introduction by Rabbi Dr Berg must be read. He is the power behind of this historic project, and his passion for Zohar can be felt as you read his words. Highly recommend for Jewish and non-Jewish people to read and familiarise Zohar. It is simply great.

Life Changer
Simply a must have. Composed by kabbalist Rav Shimon bar Yochai, the Zohar defies definition. Its vast and comprehensive commentary on biblical matters has captivated spiritual and intellectual giants for over two millennia. But its codes, its metaphors, its cryptic language are not given to us purely for understanding. Like any holy book, they are designed as channels for energy. The Zohar is nothing less than a powerful spiritual tool imbued with the energy to bring peace, protection, healing and fulfillment to those who possess it

Useful for those who know how to study the Zohar
Like many others who have written reviews, I have also compared the translations with the Pritzker edition. I study under a traditional Kabbalist in the heart of the Chassidic community, and have found the berg translation to be fairly accurate, or accurate enough for one who studies in English and is learning Hebrew. I also agree that the new-age comments are irritating and unnecessary, but it is worth overlooking these if they give offence. Having said that, there are phrases and expressions that render the Hebrew beautifully, and more importantly reveal the 'light' which the Zohar represents. Having spent much time with academic material, I have come to realise that it has severe limitations when it comes to 'living' these words, through prayer and devkut. Whilst purists may appreciate the detailed notes and more academically accurate portrayal of the material, this is not sufficient for one who needs to practise Kabbalah. My teacher has usually, at least five or seven possible translations of a given work and it is only in this way one may come to a deeper appreciation, along with the required etymological analysis, gematria etc., of the deeper possible meanings to be found within. At the end of the day, one will use the material in a way best suited to your temperament, point in the path etc. They are worth purchasing, but would advise looking at other available sources in conjunction with them. I am not a follower of the Kabbalah Centre, nor would I wish to be, but I acknowledge that Rabbi Berg has provided a work that is both useful to a serious student and complete. There is no other available work such as this in English. The Pritzker edition contains errors as well, and also will be missing some very important parts of the work, which is a great shame.

I put off getting this set for a long time because I didn't know if it would be worth it. It totally is. This book set should come with a disclaimer saying: "will blow your mind." I mean that times a thousand. Now I will say, none of this stuff is going to make sense if you haven't done a deep-dive into judeo-christian beliefs and mysticism beforehand. I would recommend studying other related subjects (say about 5 years minimum, 8-10 to be safe) before you start with the Zohar- because the Zohar is the definition of heavy weight material. If you've heard of the Kaballah, or the Zohar, obviously you read a little deeper then pulp fiction thrillers to begin with. Still, this is the big leagues. If your only reference point for the Zohar is one or two books related to new age mysticism, the significance of this text will not click, and you will be better off with an abridged version contained in one volume you can get for $15, rather than a 23 book set. If this sounds like you, and you want to buy these books still- Congratulations: you will probably be studying these books for the rest of your life (and like it). This is one of those collections that dedicates a whole book just for the index. I'm aware that 5-10 year study time sounds like a hefty prerequisite, but heed the call. This is for serious students only. It takes a lot to digest. If you don't have a solid background in Judaic law or judeo-christian lore that goes beyond the layman's knowledge, none of the related tales of the rabbis or the old testament prophets or elaborations on biblical events are going to make sense or mean anything to you. It would be like giving calculus to grade schoolers (that's an inside joke, because the guy who invented calculus studied kaballah). Its not that you can't get there, but its going to take some time. When I got this set, I went through every book (there are multiple books within every binding) skimmed the table of contents and marked the chapter in categories of 1-3 in terms of importance. Sometimes I open up a book at random and read the most interesting chapters to the least appealing . Sometimes i also go by the index and study topic to topic. Each paragraph in every book is numbered, and if, for example, you want to study the subject of "Adam" or "faith", it will take you to every paragraph with the word "faith" in it. If you try reading this thing from front to back, in my opinion you're not going to have a fun time. There are some reviews in here that talk about the quality of the covers, and some of them were damaged when they received them. I didnt receive damaged goods, and haven't had an issue with the binding, but the covers do damage easily. This doesn't bother me. Doing the math with how much you pay for this, your basically getting a set of 23 hard covers for 20 bucks per book. Thats on the cheaper end for hardcovers. The knowledge in these books is easily worth a thousand dollars. I'm being hyperbolic, but you get my point. Sit and pray before you take this road. And when you choose to take it, Godspeed. Its going to be a fun ride.

Corections are the path toward truth. I've never seen anything that corrects as well as The Zohar. A word of caution... this world is deeply misaligned from the truth. Once you begin your journey of corrections, you won't be able to see the world as before. Nor would you want to.
