Is this mic loud through an amp?

For me it is. I run it straight into a karaoke unit.

What mic stand do you recommend?

It's a standard 5/8 thread size, so you can use any stand that suits your needs. I use the mic in a theatre mostly as a practical prop so its just a simple on-stage black stand.

What are the dimensions of this microphone? I want to make sure I get the correct size desktop mic stand.
