Ahead Lars Ulrich Metallica Black

Okay, so I ordered these on the 4th of December last year, so it's basically been a year since I bought these. After a years use I have only just had to replace the tips and sleeves, which in my oppinion shows incredible durability! FYI, when I say a years use, I probably use the sticks on average for about 10 hours per week, so that's around 500+ hours use before having to change the tips and sleeves. =) The sticks themselves are rather heavier than conventional wooden sticks, but this is understandable due to Ahead's choice of construction materials. I personally prefer the heavier weight as I find you dont need to put as much force behind a strike as you do with a wooden stick (Depends entirely on your playing style obviously, it's very subjective). However one thing I found almost immediately after having used the sticks for the first time was the metal handles were quite uncomfortable. I personally had to wrap the handles in grip tape, but after doing so they have been a pleasure to use ever since. The aluminium core does what Ahead state it does, and reduces vibrations dramatically. I can now drum for far longer than before due to the virtual elimination of vibration fatigue. You can really notice the difference if you try to drum with one of these sticks along with a wooden one. (Not something I advise as everything sounds rubbish XD). All in all, the best £30 I ever spent on a pair of drum sticks, and being able to replace the sleeves, tips and grip tape for less than a tenner only once a year really does make these sticks great value for money. =) EDIT (14/07/2015) - Okay, so I ordered these sticks on the 4th of December 2012, it's now the 14th of July 2015 and the same pair of sticks are still going strong. Albeit I've replaced the tips, sleeves and grip tape numerous times now, but seeing as I only have to do this about once every 4-5 months now (I've been using them far more often since I last reviewed these sticks) it still works out far cheaper than buying replacement wooden sticks every few weeks. I'd say I now use them on average for around 30+ hours a week, and during that week they are hammered pretty hard (I'm a fairly heavy handed drummer) as well as being tossed about whilst being lugged to and from rehearsal spaces, gigs, ect. The short of it is this, the sticks have not deformed in the slightest and show absolutely no signs of giving up the ghost any time soon. I'm confident that I shall have to replace my drum kit before these sticks. Do yourselves a favor, save an unimaginable amount of cash and buy these sticks. You won't regret it.

Bought these sticks and absolutely love em. Big metallica fan. Lars is my hero. ( sounds strange coming from a 39 year old man). Im having drumming lessons and these are the perfect tools. Light durable and got the great man s name on them. Arrived 3 days after purchasing them. Will definitely keep my eye out for more from this supplier.

Bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday last year. He used to go through so many wooden sticks before this. Needs a few bits replacing but they are easy to come by and cheap. He loves it. He's been using these since May 2014 and not needed to buy anything since!

These are possibly the best set of drumsticks I have ever bought. They do everything it says on the box. They are extremely durable, they sound legendary and power is easy to achieve. I am very happy with these and would strongly recommend buying them.

Bought these as a gift for my heavy metal drumming teen son. Without saying they are over engineered, he says they are just too heavy for fast playing. He uses cheap carbon fibres for practice and Vic firths for gigs. Sorry Lars......but we did pay to see you.

Played with these for the first time tonight. Absolutely incredible, virtually no shock when using these and a great sound. Recommend them to anyone. Only issue was the packaging by amazon, when the postman initally turned up i was quite shocked to see what appeared to be a box big enough to comfortably accomodate the North of England contingient of weightwatchers on a guided tour of the antarctic penguin colonies during mating season. Fortunately for me, when i opened the box i wasnt presented with a large couple named Jim and Betty and their clinically obese 11 year old son stsnding there sucking on a greggs pasty but an enormous pile of scrumpled brown paper which after much enjoyment rustling through i found a single pair of "geet posh" drumsticks...cue happy man dance!

Ich kann noch nicht viel sagen muss sie erst einsetzen aber fühlen sich schon mal sehr gut an.

Qualidade e durabilidade...

These sticks not only have great rebound but man do they take a beating. I've used them at several rehearsals now and they hardly show any damage. I expect that they will last much, much longer than wooden sticks. Good value, great fun to use.

They do have a little extra weight at the tip, which I like, helps bounce, and adds some extra power with less effort. Look great, feel awesome to play with. Only con I can find is they are VERY smooth, a little bit slicker than wood but not too bad. I definitely recommend them!
