This thing is great as long as you get the Lightburn (or other software) settings right. The settings come with device on a printed sheet.Tip - It doesn't do as well with tumblers that aren't the same circumference top to bottom. This is the majority of tumblers. You can easily make yourself a jig in Lightburn. Take the outer circumference of the top of tumbler and create a circle the same size in Lightburn. Then take the outer circumference of the bottom of the tumbler and center this circle inside the other in Lightburn. Then cut this out of plywood. You will get a ring to put around the bottom of the tumbler to hold it parallel to the laser. Put this ring on before putting it on the rotary. Sometimes a little tape (duct, gorilla) will give extra assurance that it stays in place.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Use it with some lightburn. Takes sometimes to figure out but it's constant work. Mostly use for wood. For metal and other things you need to buy a different solution either a spray or powder

I can give you 100 reasons not to buy this. We tried everything known to man, to get this to work on a constant level. It absolutely can not happen.We set all the settings on light burn, to exactly what the manual says. It engraver almost invisible. Turned the S value up to 1000 and it filled the garage with smoke, doing a material test. Which S value of 1000 max was recommended, per the manual.We have 3D printers, Graphic design software etc. We're not newbies to technology. This was supposed to be out of the box ready. We could get it to engrave, more like burn with the LazerGRBL software. Lightburn was absolutely useless.If you looking for a way to get i to laser engraving. This is not the answer!Learn from our mistakes.

For the price this machine works pretty good! Not meant for anything fancy but for basic engraving does the trick!! Definitely small though. But overall impressed

I first tried some of those cheap stainless tumblers from amazon that have a tapered and even slightly curved shape to them. Once I figured out that you had to change the GRBL setting $101=50.381 when using this thing, it actually worked pretty well.One trick I figured out is - tumblers like those I mentioned, on a roller like this one, it might help to wrap several layers of painters tape at the very end of the roller where you don't want the cup to move from when rotating, as well as putting something to keep it from moving the other direction (I literally used a heavy flashlight). This keeps what you're engraving positioned correctly on the X-axis and you're likely to get much better results.As a starter roller, with some fiddling to get things level to the laser head, this is a really nice device.
