Not what I expected....
Not what I expected. If this game was more along the lines of Cafe World it would probably be a best seller and most played game. It starts out ok but you can quickly loose interest in the game. It's good for teaching you how to keep a business going, but other than that you are wondering how to get ahead in the game. No tips no help makes this a dull game.

A fun and useful learning tool!
I used to be, and still am on occassion, an avid Sim player. I've been a loyal Sim fan since childhood with the old Sim City's, and from day one when the first copy of The Sims came out. I also dabbled in a few of the tycoon games and was addicted to those as well. I'm not sure why it took me 7 years to find my beloved copy of Restaurant Empire, but I'm glad I found it.If you like strategic games that make you think, plan, and budget as well as give you the ability to control everything, you'll fall in love with this game. I came across this game a few weeks ago while I was bored at work one day, and decided to go home and play the demo. Immediatley, I became hooked. Unfortunatly the demo only lasted an hour, but it was enough time to allow me to get my feel for the game and it most definitely left me wanting MORE. With the free shipping tool it took about one week and a half to get to me once I ordered it, but I finally received it a couple of days ago and am even more addictecd now.The graphics are ok. Could be better obviously, but then again this game is 7 years old, so what can I expect? The customers complain and gripe a lot, so I still have yet to earn enough profit to pay for more staff training to shut them up! I really like games that make you think and strategize, and this game definitely does that. I've learned a lot about budgeting so far. I'd like to open up a business for myself one day and this game is teaching me lots of useful tools that I'll need to know for the future. The fact that you can open a restaraunt and build it from the ground up, have full ability to manage your staff, budget, decorations, and even expand and open other restaraunts to create a chain - that's just a blast, and very addictive so be careful! If you're into the kinds of games that I mentioned and you have an interest in business and strategy, this game will definitely quench your thirst and keep you occupied for a while. I really hope they are thinking of coming out with a new one. I'll be one of the first to buy it! I hope this review was helpful. :-)

restaurant empire computer game
I got this game as I love the tycoon games like zoo tycoon, roller coaster tycoon, etc. also diner dash and that type. It loaded quickly but even after watching the tutorial I couldnt figure out how to play it.I got to the first place you added stuff to the restaurant wall, and was stuck. I seen no way to figure it out, so I ended up unloading it. The graphics were okay. They werent cartoonlike they were more realistic and you could watch the restaurant from different angles and inside and outside. Supposedly you can build other restaurants but since I couldnt get past the first one, I guess I never will. Definitely would not recommend it for kids.

Nice game, but needs improvement
This game needs a lot of work. It's decent on the fun scale, but needs more decoration options among other mechanical improvements. I'll keep an eye out for an expansion pack or a new version.

Empire
The game is okay i guess, you can use your sims1 skins to update it. All in all, i realised that it was a little short on what i expected.

Good Eats
The game is quite thorough and makes you think about the overall set up of a restaurant. Fun in some ways yet a little mundane in others. Would like to see a general manager scenario where you make decision and then the game plays off of those decisions.

So So
This only keeps you amused for a few hours and very quickly loses its gusto.
