Schlüter DITRA 25 Decoupling Mat 1 M²

Very recommended to install if you plan to tile on any type of wood whither plywood or chipwood. It reduces noise, prevent movement and cracking, prevents water reaching wood, and makes the floor stronger in my opinion.

used this on a wooden floor & then fitted ceramic tiles they have been down 4 months now and it all seems very secure no movement at all (touch wood) would highly recommend!

There is probably a good reason why most UK kitchen fitters don't work with this stuff. It is NOT the most straightforward of products to work with. You need to have a very secure adhesion to the substrate and then to the tiles. Choice of adhesive is very important, thickness of bed very important, even down to the troweling. I would suggest watching at least half a dozen You Tube vids to gather all the advice available... and follow it to the letter, or you will end up with an unstuck floor!
