Yes they shrink - a lot. I have a size 12 foot size and purchased a L size sock. After the first wash and dry the sock shrunk down to size 9, I had to hand over about $100 in socks to my little niece because they wouldn’t t fit on my foot. I have since gone to an XL without issue.
