This book is one to be read at a pace where you internalize each piece of subject matter. And ... Make sure you do the exercises presented this way you can relate directly to each of the separate states intimately

Excellent "entry" book for beginners..and experienced!
I've started to learn about TA with the french version. I use to refer to this book everytime I need some highlights regarding concepts and points of view. I'm now working with TA for more than 6 years and I still discover interesting approach with this manual.Enjoy it!

原著はかなり易しい英文です
今さら心理学の専門家でない私が付け加えることはありませんが、原著の英文についてひと言書かせてください。交流分析に興味を持ってこの本（原著）を購入しましたが、かなり易しい英文です。序文に英語ネイティブでない人にも読みやすい文章にしたとあり、実際に非英語圏の研究者に原稿を読んでもらっています。読んだ印象もそのとおりと感じました。もっとも、子供向きの本ではないのでまったく歯ごたえがないわけではありません。ですが、辞書を引きながら論文を読めるという方であれば、原著も検討されてみてはいかがでしょう。ただし、独学で勉強される方でこの本が初めての教科書という場合、原文の意味を誤解して間違って理解してしまうという危険性もあることを、念のため書き添えておきます。

The meaning of life
Excellent tool for layman that lots of research shows to work. The mechanics of how and why people behave in certain ways, and advice on how to free oneself from these bonds. A must read for all people interested in self development, and creates a clear progression for later inner child work. Great book.
