Really does work
I originally gave us a negative review because I used it for weeks and noticed it wasn't catching anything. I was unhappy and returned it. But now, after not having it for a while, I noticed the flies have returned. It may not have caught the big fly, but it did something to keep them away.I am now regretting not to keeping them.

The fan truly sucks (unfortunately, I do not mean literally).
I have kept this running for a couple of months now (wanted to give it a good and honest chance before reviewing) in an area with frequent gnats. The only time it has caught a gnat was when I picked up one of the sticky pads with my hands and manually swatted at one... Which I guess was one less gnat to deal with, but does defeat the purpose of spending this money for a trap rather than a cheap swatter. The fan just appears to not be strong enough to suck anything into it, apart from the ghost of a good review. Other reviewers seemed to have better luck, and maybe you will too, but for what ever it's worth- I regret listening to them.

Traps Those Pesky Insects!
The product definitely works. The area I live in is thick with flies and mosquitoes. I also have a problem with fruit flies. I have been using the trap for a couple of weeks and I have trapped numerous insects. Trapping the mosquitoes was the main reason I purchased the trap.

Could Be Better But Works
Update: Took about 24 hours to catch 1 fly, however after a few days it began to start catching at a reasonable pace. I still think the suction on the trap could be better, and I will probably still send it back, but at least it’s actually showing some results. Original 1* review: Will update it begins catching things, but so far it has been going all night and nothing has been captured. I even managed to spot one of the fruit flies I got this for walk into the vent area and then walk right out, so either this traps fan is extremely weak or the fans are inverted because it is definitely on. Making plenty of noise and definitely has some sort of air flow anyway. If there is nothing caught by tomorrow night this review will be left up and a return started. So far the one I paid $5 more for is far superior at doing its job. The sad thing is the sticky pads are much stickier than the ones with the expensive, but since nothing is being sucked into the cage doesn’t really have any benefit.

Sticky pad not sticky - flies walking around
The flies are walking around on the sticky pad. They are walking and flying in the canister. These are fruit flies, so they shouldn’t be that strong. This might suck them in a little, but without the sticky pad being sticky, it won’t be effective. I am wondering where can I get stickier pads? Or if there is some sticky glue I could spray on the pad to be sticker? I give 2 stars for sucking them in, but it’s useless if it doesn’t stick them.

Useless for flies.
I purchased this to help remove the flies from my camping trailer. We have been battling an evasion of little black flies this summer. Well, it seems that they have fun in the whirlwind to cool off, but then fly right out. The flies are not being pulled down into the contraption. And when they do, I just find them flying around inside, not stuck on the little sticky pad. I changed the pad daily. It didn't seem to matter. It is more frustrating that it didn't do what I was hoping it would, to help combat the fly battle.
