DAP INC 18744 Alex Plus 7OZ Spackling, 7 oz, White

No complaints at all about the performance of this spackle. I've used DAP products for many years, and have always been happy with their performance and value. This is no exception.But what I really like about this is that it's in a sealable tube. I've had to toss out countless tubs of partially-used spackle since the material dries out and becomes useless regardless of how much care I take in putting the lid back on. This is in a tube which has a good cap to keep the contents from drying out.The tube makes it easy to deal with small holes/dents since you can apply it directly from the tube to the wall and smooth it out with a putty knife. Quick and mess-free.It's a bit more expensive per ounce compared with a tub, but the ease of use and the ability to keep it tightly sealed in storage more than offset the additional cost. Highly recommend, especially if you're tired of tossing out dried-out tubs of partially used spackle.

Now that I've used it several times I really love this product. Wish I could give it more than 5-stars. I forgot the best part, as advertised and marked on the label, "No flashing." What a difference! Who wants to paint 4 coats of paint over caulk to get rid of the shiny "flashing" residue, especially on walls with any color other than white. Wish I would have found this sooner, instead of using those small tubs of caulk that always seem to dry out, no matter how well re-sealed (I use a hammer), long before you come close to using even a 1/4 of the product and have to throw it out. From my original review: Works well, much better than a dried up tub of spackle. Smooth, even, like toothpaste coming out of a tube. I do anticipate having to use more pressure when the tube isn't new and full (an issue for arthritic hands) but so far, I'm very pleased with this product as far as quality, coverage, and ease of use.

The Saran Wrap keeps the nozzle from filling with dried material.This is extremely convenient for small repairs and so far the tube has not dried out in the nozzle. Wonderful way to keep fresh spackling on hand for nail and anchor holes.I filled a 3/16 hole, the next day it shrank so badly I had to use more. When the second application dried it also shrank. I could understand shrinkage with a large repair, but not with the second application in a 3/16 hole that was caused by severe shrinkage.

In the past when I bought spackle I had a lot left over which always dried out and went to waste. This tube of spackle was the perfect size for the job I had to do. Easy to apply and sand.

I re-painted my living room & used it to cover some dents & paint peeling on the wall. I've never done this before, it was pretty easy to apply. I used a putty knife to smooth it in and sanded it after it dried. After painting the walls, I couldn't really tell where the dents or peelings were. Overall, great item!

This is a good quality spackle. The plus point of it is that it has a cap on it which can be securely tightened..the spackle won't dry out in the tube.The downside of it is that you have to FIRMLYsqueeze the tube to get anything out...kind of like toothpaste.

Easily spread, easy to work into cracks. I used this to repair a spot on the wall where the plaster let go after a 3M pad was applied. Apply, gently sand down, apply matching paint and you cannot tell the spot was ever damaged.

How convenient! No more dried out tubs!
