I read so many reviews on umbrellas before deciding on this one. I read many complaints about other umbrellas color fading after just a few days. The reviews on this did not have such complaints. Our summers where I live in sunny Calif are 100°+ so if an umbrella was going to fade, it would. This umbrella was extremely easy for me to assemble & cranks open/close easily. I've had it open since it arrived a month ago. (except for this pic) There has been no fading at all. I love the color, the shade it makes, the ease of using it. I love everything about this umbrella! I haven't tried the tilt yet b/c I haven't needed to. I'm 5'3 & would need a stool to press that button to use the tilt feature. Anyone a little taller would be able to do it. This is a very well made, quality umbrella & I'd expect the tilt feature to be the same. Highly recommend. Update: July 15,2022 It's been 1yr since my umbrella has been up & opened all day, everyday. I added pics so you can judge for yourself regarding any fading. I'm still COMPLETELY happy with this awesome umbrella! Yes, there may be some slight fading, but nothing that I'd noticed until matching it up with the pics in my initial review. After all, our temps in the Inland Empire in California are typically in the triple digits all summer, so in my opinion, I'd say this umbrella has held up beautifully! It still looks great & functions perfectly. No rips, tears or any problems whatsoever. Buy it!

These umbrellas are nice. The “2 year fade resistance” is BS. One summer with this umbrella in the Phoenix summer and it goes from dark red to very washed out. Otherwise it’s a sturdy umbrella.

Bought this umbrella 4 years ago. It is still looking and working great! Over this past winter we neglected to put it in the garage, and left it outside under an overhang. The umbrella got black mold spots on it. I took a chance and sprayed the turquoise fabric with Tilex. After about 5 minutes, I hosed it off. The mold was GONE and the fabric didn’t bleach out!!! AMAZING! I am delighted to get another of use from this umbrella and will treat it better next winter.

As soon as I opened the box I liked the umbrella. Still waited for the end of a season to see how it works. Works very well indeed! Very easy to assemble, very easy to open and close, relatively easy to tilt (the button based tilting system requires some effort), and does not yet have any visible damage from the sun or rain. The manual honestly says the material is expected to stay as is for a couple of years, then it will fade: this is what happened to my previous umbrella, also polyester based. I like the honesty. And I like the price, by the way. Now, the base has to be bought separately, but I already had one. It is standard size, fits smoothly. Update a year later. The umbrella worked better than its price would imply. I have had it staying outside without a cover all this time, under New England snow and rain and wind and sun, and i cannot detect any visible fading of the color. (A few reviews did mention fadng was an issue, so take it into account.) I have stupidly broken the umbrella by having left it open before a storm, and during the storm it flew away from my patio and took the glass table with it. The heavy umbrella base broke apart (!) and the glass shattered into a million of tiny pieces, quite spectacular actually. One or several pieces of the glass tore a hole in the fabric, and the weight of it all broke one of the spokes into two pieces. Because it happened at the end of the season, I decided to reassemble the umbrella and used it several more times on warmer days in the fall. Then it stayed up all winter as I mentioned earlier. Today I am replacing it with the new one, the same type. Let's see how it holds up!

Very pretty, has held up nicely in the weather. Easy to open and close. Fits well over our dining set.

Initially this felt like a great purchase. It looked great, tilt mechanism worked like a charm, and all was well. Owns it for less that a year, and a roughly 15-20 MPH guest of wind caught it while it was on an angle and it bent the metal pole like a piece of paper. When I tried to buy a replacement pole I dealt directly with the manufacturer who sent it somewhere sheer across the country and it was likely not the right part given the porch picture I was shown (on a porch that was not mine!). I’ve cut my losses and will buy a new one.
