This was a life saver for my dog this summer. He was having a health issue that the vets couldn’t pin down first thinking it was an allergy then skin cancer. My Border Collie desperately wanted to go to the ranch but the heat was really giving him a bad time his skin couldn’t take the heat. I got this vest in hopes of giving him back some of his freedom and being able to go with me like he had done for 9 years. Ok here’s how it worked It fit beautifully It is well made, top quality Well worth the money It is nice looking and fit well I followed the instructions on the ice packs and wetting the vest and putting in fridge He didn’t mind wearing it and wasn’t bothered by the 100 degree weather (we both tried to stay in the shade as much as possible) I kept the vest wet and we were Abe to attend to the horses and get home happily. The vet was very pleased that it had worked for him. I will definitely use it again next hot summer on him. It functioned just as well as the item was advertised.

Poor design. It slides all over the place. The gel packs cause it to shift too much. Gel packs are cheap as well. I have used it twice now while walking my dog and I spent most of the walk trying to adjust the harness. Not worth it!

The cloth fit poorly so the ice pack slid to the side. The cloth remained cool and the ice pack frozen for the duration of a 25 minute walk in 80 degree Arizona weather. My frenchie has a 16 in neck and weighs 29 pounds. This item may be better suited to an animal with a wider back. The item was sturdy and worked well as a harness. I wish it had stayed in place better.

Nice cooling option when it is hot outside.

This vest has been a lifesaver...literally! I have two dogs, one is a goldendoodle who seriously overheats during and after exercise. I walk my dogs a few miles each morning, and Milo can spend hours laying on any cold surface he can find, panting and drooling terribly, as well as sometimes vomiting up the water he's drunk. Recovery time for him is scary sometimes! I drench this vest with cool water and wring it out before putting it on my dogs. They stay cool throughout our walks, even on a day when it was 95 degrees! When we get home, I leave it on Milo for about 15 minutes just to be safe but the stressful panting and drooling are gone! Another cool feature is the dual zippers, which give you an added inch or so. My dogs are each around 40 lbs. I tried large vests for them according to the measurement chart but ended up returning those for mediums, which fit perfectly! WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

I ordered the wrong size the first time. It was easy to return at Kohls. My second order was the correct size and fits the dog perfectly. Now just waiting for hot weather to try it out.

I returned this because it did not stay on my large Irish Setter. It slide off to side. If it had a back strap it might work. I thought about adding a strap myself, but I'm not a seamstress and don't have the machine I would need to do so. Material was good quality. It felt cool.

Smallest size is way too big. And there is wayyyyyy too much material! It’s like the dog is wearing a winter coat!!! With the tiniest ice pack in the smallest area!! There aren’t even at least multiple ice packs around all the covering material!!! And the material isn’t breathable either!!! The layer on touching the dog is completely sealed!!!

Amazing! My greyhound/springer can not handle the heat very well so this vest has helped keep him cool.

Found the sizing chart to be off.

I’m sure it would work well, but I returned it, as it didn’t fit my dog.

The Good: -Will fit almost any medium sized dog (the dogs in the picture are around 18-25 lbs and a shih tzu and Havanese) -Really does cool the dog down (I can feel that the inside of it is much cooler than the outside) -Reflective so it's okay to walk the dog in it -The straps are sewn into the side so they don't get lost inside the vest -The dogs didn't hate it... but the looks that they gave me were the same when a small child is given socks for Christmas -Excellent quality At the time of this review, this dog cooling vest was $42.99 and I think that's fair.
