Atmospheric & Combative
Very atmospheric Action RPG, that is worth buying! {I'd say this game is pulling the "Reverse Isekai" Trope to some degree? Monster are pulled into our world from some other dimension or something. The combat is solid. The world is interesting. The Characters are interesting. It's challenging, but not ridiculous. As long as you're curious and explore, you'll be rewarded. Its not perfect, there is some "back tracking"... there's not exactly a "map".. which is frustratingly annoying BUT does force you to pay attention whether you like it or not. OR you may just do like me, play & then get distracted by real life, come back and go "Derp derp".. where was I and what was I doing? and how do you fight again!? That being said, if you're a fan of "ARPG"... this game really is worth checking out. It at least rewards you for "getting skilled" when it comes to combat. There's no punishing the "player" with schemes or schisms "Because the dev just wanted to".. It is a fair game combat wise, is what I mean. NOW that being said, they do a bit like Dark Souls in luring you in with "items" you can see... and you may get into some fights you'd rather avoid b/c of curiosity. BUT it may be an item you want! Anyways, from music, to sound, to combat, set pieces... This game really nails all of it! It's worth playing if you spelunking around the world without your hand being held. There's a certain nuance to this game. I think in the future it may be looked back upon as a "classic"..... I know I look at the ARPG game "The Surge" like this. It has the silliest of names as a game. But the armor & weapons and combat. Like there was a nuance to it all & once you nailed it! Man did that game become really enjoyable. BUT it was such a huge barrier to entry that.. it wasn't until you got "REALLY COMMITED".. did it get good. "Hell is US", this game does ask for a certain level of commitment. Take its hand & dive in!

The Horror And Futility Of War
"Hell Is Us" explores the absolute pointlessness and immorality of war, in all its terrible facets. A surprisingly sophisticated and mature game, which takes place in the fictional authoritarian nation of Hadea, where the dominant religion and its reformist offshoot have been at war for centuries. The lore is rich, delving into modern politics, ancient grudges, propaganda from both sides, and the efforts of secret societies to manage the population over the millennia. All of this history is gradually revealed as the main character progresses through his journey to discover his parents. Demonic entities have appeared during Hadea's current civil war, echoing the emotional tragedies of the past, and these you must defeat during your quest. The player is also rewarded for performing good deeds in this war-torn country. Intelligent storytelling, enjoyable gameplay, mildly challenging puzzles, and a true spirit of exploration, "Hell Is Us" is everything a game should be. Five stars.

A Rare Atmospheric Masterpiece
(If you like Netflix's Dark, I recommend this game) now to the review! It desrves your attetion Games like this are simply an anomaly in today's video game marketing and I mean this in the best possible way. This game was an absolutely joy to explore, I love relying on my tools to get along, from my compass to mental landmarks I set for myself, to physical notes I took on an actual notebook! There's a real satisfaction from solving riddles, puzzles and finding your way in the terrain. This isn't a game you should sit down for a quick speedy playthrough; it deserves your attention, and you should take your time. It can be overwhelming at first, but taking notes makes everything a lot simpler and easier to keep track of. Incredible Soun Design The sound design is the best I've ever heard in a video game. One if my favorite examlles is when it rains, you can hear the individual dropples falling on the different surfaces, as you get close to objects like cars or rooftops, you can hear rain falling on those surfaces in proximity with incredible accuracy. Immaculate Atmosphere The synth/ industrial wave music is the perfect soundtrack to enhance the atmosphere of this game. Everything from the level design, art direction, architecture...etc adds to the atmosphere. You Uncover thr Story This game isn't going to feed you the story. Yes, it has strong narrative beats here and there, but the lore and depth come from your own exploration. It's up to you to understand the world and uncover the truth.

One Hell of a game!
Hell is Us a Souls-Bourne on Acid Game! Kind of surprised that the From Soft guys didn’t make it! It would be up there titular! But either way it’s still good for its worth! Not for the faint hearted but still worth it for the get good crowd!

Sleeper hit
Absolutely loving this game. You start off basically as somebody who left Eastern Europe and then came back as an adult working as a NATO member. Apparently some soldier took over an area and there's a lot of supernatural things going on. I don't want to spoil the story for everybody but it's very moody, atmospheric and great. There are absolutely no indication, go left right etc. All information needs to be gathered from paying attention, exploring and the random people. Even simple little things by the objects you collect. What people are talking about to you directly paints the story it doesn't handhold you. It's a very sensory type of game and sounds phenomenal if you have a surround sound. From what I gather so far the combat's pretty good but I just started my game so I don't have a ton of things unlocked but it's fun. It runs phenomenal on the PlayStation 5 pro. And it's pro-patched. If you're looking for something random that came out of the blue and that is not AAA but AAA quality. This is the way to go. I also like the fact that every single character you encounter even the normal people look like there's something wrong with them or they have a weird look to them. Whoever did the character designs deserves a trophy.

Gotta play
Amazing game! I am impressed with this game, the story, graphics, level design and overall look is awesome. Took a bit to figure out the fighting and learning to be patient with solving puzzles. Some stunning art by the developers throughout every level. I am really enjoying this game and the approach they used to making your way through the story.

Insanely good mystery and awesome atmosphere!
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect going in, but this ended up being one of those games that sticks with you more than you expect. The first thing that stood out is how little the game actually holds your hand. No constant markers or obvious direction—you're kind of left to figure things out on your own. At first it feels a bit disorienting, but after a while it becomes part of the appeal. Exploring feels more natural, and when you do find something, it actually feels earned. Combat is solid but not overly flashy. It leans more into timing and positioning than button-mashing, and the enemy designs are pretty memorable. There’s a slightly rough edge to it at times, but it fits the tone of the game rather than hurting it. The atmosphere is probably the biggest highlight. The setting has this bleak, almost eerie feel without relying on cheap horror tricks. It’s more about tension and curiosity than constant action, which I appreciated. As for the Deluxe Edition, it’s a nice bonus if you care about extras. You’re getting additional packs and digital content rather than anything essential, so it doesn’t feel mandatory—but it’s a decent upgrade if you like collecting or diving deeper into the game’s world. It’s definitely not for everyone. If you want something fast-paced and straightforward, this might feel slow or even frustrating. But if you’re okay with a more deliberate, slightly unconventional experience, it’s worth trying.
