KLARING KCP-CF11182, Cabin Air Filter Replacement
T**H
Does the job for a lot less than the dealer wants (go figure!)
With a new car, I like to head to the dealer for oil changes. That way there's an easy record of maintenance so they can't try to wiggle out of any repairs. Plus, they don't cost THAT much more than other places. With the oil Honda uses, they aren't much more expensive than doing it myself. All of that being said, the reason the dealer's oil changes don't cost that much more, is because they'll squeeze extra money out of you in other ways. Honda wanted $60 to put in a cabin air filter. Of course, that's a huge waste of money. This one is $9 and takes about one minute to install. Maybe a couple of minutes if you have a lot of stuff in your glove compartment and it takes you a while to take it all out and put it back in. Boom! $50 saved! As for the filter itself, it's nothing fancy. It's a basic cabin air filter. Pretty much the same as the one Honda uses, although it isn't quite as rigid around the edges. However, that isn't a problem since once it's installed there isn't enough for it to move around or bend anyway. There are other, more expensive cabin air filters (that are still cheaper than Honda), but this one does the job just fine.

Bait and Switch...
I ordered this filter in December 2019 and it had 41 pleats (Original Honda Factory filter has 40 pleats). Even the picture on upside of box shows 40 or 41 pleats if you count them. I ordered same filter again in October 2020 and filter has 31 pleats; approximately 25% fewer pleats than last year’s filter. Fewer pleats results in reduced quality due to increased back pressure on HVAC motor and shorter filter life due to pleats becoming clogged up sooner than with more pleats. Guess I’ll go back to factory Honda parts for quality.

Only OK. No airflow arrows...hmmm
Seems like an ok filter. Material was nothing to write home about. Also, not engineered like others. There was no arrow indicating direction of airflow like every other cabin air filter I have ever installed. Just installed it like flipping a coming and am hoping for the best. 🤔

economy filter
Has no installation arrows or support like the original OE part. I compared it to the original for installation direction and used hot glue to reate the support ribs. I would use this filter for my next replacement.

Ok but not the quality of OEM
The filter fit fine. The OEM part had a line of adhesive to keep the pleats separated. The replacement did not. The OEM had a label with an arrow to show filter direction for proper air flow. The replacement did not. Probably not an issue since the filter seems to be the same on both sides.
