Busy but good images
The media could not be loaded. The pages are on white paper, they are perforated, the paper feels good, printed on one side only. The images are all "busy" in that they fill the whole page, with backgrounds and such. None with white space areas. It loses a star as for me, some are just too busy and it would be nice to have some that are a bit simpler. The size of the spaces you color are great...not too small, not too big.(I have uploaded two vid's from both phone and camera and do not know why the quality is so bad. I give up, sorry.)

What a wonderful book
I love this book. Every page has absolutely wonderful artwork and such nostalgic scenes. It is one of the few books I have I want to color every page. I entered this one in a Christmas coloring contest. I found the scene so nostalgic and reminiscent of times past in my life. I enjoyed working on ti very much and choosing just the right colors. The scene just came alive.A light touch with pencils allows you to layer up to 3 layers with most pencils. I have scanned this one and printed it out and got such lovely results with the shading and blending. I used glitter pens and staedtler fineliners, and it did not bleed through. It is good to put a cardboard or hard insert behind the page to color it, but I have not had a issue with bleed through. I would not recommend markers for this.I am enchanted with Marjorie Sarnat's books. I have bought several lately, and without exception each book has really lovely scenes, pages, fairies, angels, and animals to color. Really worth buying

A fun collection of images for coloring on pretty decent paper
This is the first coloring book by Marjorie Sarnat that I've ever purchased. I wasn't a fan of her art in her previous works involving animals, but this one, when I flipped through it, had several images that just looked like too much fun to color so I bought it and have done parts of a couple of pages in it already.First thing, Ms. Sarnat understands coloring books. The lines of her art are thin and leave plenty of room for mixing and blending. She has not divided her figures into knotted up messes of tiny shapes that would make a Zentangle aficionado sweat with worry because there is no way to get a sharpened pencil point into something that small. But there's enough detail here to work with without having to color in wide swaths of nothing, too. This attention to detail made these items a pleasure to work on and It will take a long time to complete just one drawing which I'm perfectly okay with. The only criticism I have is the paper. This is the publsiher's fault, not Ms. Sarnat's. Creative Haven sometimes gets great paper to work on. Sometimes not. It's a crap shoot and in this case the paper was a little sub par and I had trouble getting it to take my pencil medium of choice, Faber-Castell Polychromos. It didn't take long for the paper to become burnished which is not a good thing for pencil medium.I'm still going to keep working in this book for a couple more Christmases at the very least. Thoroughly enjoy coloring in this book and I'm glad I bought it.

Sweet book
This is a typical Majorie Sarnat coloring book, busy! Cute!I generally have enjoyed working with the Creative Haven coloring books. The paper works well with colored pencils, pastels, gel pens, Pitt pens, and markers. So saying, alcohol markers will bleed through the page. I have no bleeding problems with my Sharpies & Bics, but some really juicy markers like ColorIt bleed into other portions of the picture badly. Water based markers are okay, but multiple layers of color will start breaking down the paper. Watercolor brush pens and paints can be used, just expect buckling of the page. The least amount of water used will allow for embellishments (especially using metallic & gem colors). Acrylic paint markers will pill the paper, but I truly believe that it is more because of the nib being so abrasive. I recommend that you allow gel pens plenty of drying time, depending on the juiciness of the ink. Each page is single sided & perforated. I suggest using a piece of cardstock between pages to prevent bleed through of markers. I take my pages out of the book & place them on an artist board with a piece of cardstock under it. I also seal the page before placing it into a page protector & binder. This is a book that the whole family can enjoy.

Marjorie Sarnat can do no wrong!
I have 9 of her books and I have loved every page of every book. They are detailed enough to keep it interested and somewhat challenging but not overly detailed where I get stressed about it. I love how she fills the entire page but the artwork does not run into the binding. All of the pages are one sided and can be removed if you want to make copies. I prefer to make copies on a higher quality marker paper so I can color them over & over. If you use pencils, coloring in the book is fine. Markers will bleed through so use a paper behind it.I can't wait for her next arrival. I find myself going back to her books over & over, recoloring the pages in a different style. She is by far my favorite artist.

OMG. Such a GREAT Coloring Book
I love Marjorie Sarnat's artistry. This Christmas coloring book is a challenge, to be sure, but that's one of the things I love the most about it. I love all the tiny, intricate details that just add to the overall picture when done. The pictures are just so darned gorgeous. Please bring out a Volume 2 for next year. Love love love it. She also has other books that are wonderful to color, like "Birds and Blossoms"....kittens, fairies, etc.

Beautiful Christmas coloring book.
I have been using colored pencils to color with since Covid started, I have a little too much time on my hands some days and puzzles and painting is too much work trying to keep the cat away from those so I found that coloring is very relaxing and all I have to do is keep the pencils in a zip lock bag. I have really enjoyed the books I have and then saw this one with Christmas pictures. it is even better than I thought it would be. It has a wide variety of great pictures and they are beautiful.i love it.

Paper quality not good.
I know it's cheap, but the paper quality is very poor. Trying to put pencil down and blend is so difficult on this paper, it's fine with felt pens, which is what I'm having to use, but very hard to blend pencils and get a nice finish. Sad because the images are cute.
