I saw this device in many of my coworker’s desk but many looked cheap and with a usb cable to connect to laptop or monitor. I thought that bc of it these devices were not powerful enough to keep liquids warm; that is until I found this gem. This is a small tea warmer that plugs into your outlet of choice and maintains a temperature of 55C inside your cup. This is NOT a portable heating mini stove though so don’t think that you’re going to bring regular room temp water to a warm heat setting using this. This is for when you know you will be drinking and sipping slowly on your favorite drink. What worked best for me is pour a hot cup of tea and cover the flat surfaced tea mug with a ceramic plate. I usually leave it in the tea warmer for 3 or 4 hrs with no problems and refill with room temp water then cover again. After a few minutes, the tea or liquid is warm and comfortable to drink. So in a way, covering your tea and having a flat bottom mug will help keep your tea warm. After hours and hours of studying and coming back to my tea, I noticed vapor coming out of my mug. Lastly, never use a plastic mug or surface to sit on top of the tea warmer bc plastic melts. Can’t say enough good things about this little warmer, it’s just perfect. I only wished the cable was a little longer but it’s was meant to keep close to your desk so it’s fine :) Review: Don’t buy this! It shattered within 24 hours of usage. - I just got this yesterday. Although it kept my drink warm and did it’s job, it shattered! The top glass layer can’t take the heat. I did not drop this or do anything to break it except leaving a mug on it for less than an hour. I do not recommend this product.

Very dissipointed!
I ordered 2. I sat my metal Contigo on it. I cracked within 30 seconds. The instructions didn’t say not to put metal on it. The 2nd one stopped working in less than 2 weeks. I turned on when I set a filled cup on the heating surface. It stopped turning on unless I pressed down on the cup. It wouldn’t turn on even with a full cup unless it was pressed down. I threw out the first one and returned the 2nd one.

Keeps my tea warm...we'll see if it lasts!
Update six months after first review: Still going strong without any issues, and I use it 5 days a week at work for several cups of tea. :) Original review: Ok, first of all, what's with all the reviews for french presses? This is a mug warmer. Oh, Amazon... For now, I'm pretty happy with this mug warmer. Exactly what I needed, since I was chugging tea at work so it wouldn't go cold. Now I can drink it leisurely. Pros: -Keeps beverage warm (I dare say hot even) and most of the heat is concentrated in the circle, so no hot edges -Glass top makes it easy to clean -Weight sensor on/off is nice...sometimes if you have a light mug or get low on your drink, you have to gently press it down again to kick it back on Cons: -The on light on mine is offset so it doesn't look right since it doesn't fill the circle as intended. No biggie, just an aesthetic issue. See my photo. -Power cord is relatively short, so you'd better be sitting close to an outlet

Neat!
This is my second cup warmer, for use in my studio. Although I'm happy with my office one, this model is better for the following reasons: 1) it's easy to clean, it has a smooth surface that can just be wiped down; 2) it auto-shuts off when you lift the cup off it (my other one has to be manually switched off, too easy to accidentally leave it on). At first, it took a moment to figure out that it's the weight of the cup that switches it on, and I now check that the blue light comes on when I replace the cup. I've only had it for a few weeks, so too early to tell if there are any problems, but so far, I'd definitely recommend this.

Does not work as advertised
This is a cool looking mug warmer, but it didn't keep my coffee hot or even warm. I had about 1/2 inch of coffee in my mug and it didn't keep it warm. My mug was regular size with a flat bottom. The device itself was hot, but the heat did not affect the coffee at all. I sent it back. Amazon makes returning items easy! The return process was the best part of the whole deal! Thanks Amazon. Bottom line, don't bother with this item. It's useless.

cozy convenience
So I ordered my grandmother a warmer for Christmas so that she would stop nuking her coffee in the microwave. The gift was a huge success, and now she uses it constantly. We love how it only stays on when the cup sits on the plate, because often times these cup warmers short out due to constant usage. It came in the mail undamaged, not cracked, worked fine and still does. Compared to some other reviews I got lucky, lmao. [edited my review due to my having some slight technical errors]

Would Not Recommend — 2 Broke Back-to-Back
This is the second of these warmers I’ve bought and both have cracked and broken within a week of purchase! I haven’t put anything on them but ceramic coffee cups and they will randomly crack and put off an electrical burning smell. I would 100% NOT recommend these.
