.com The Baffin Ice Field boot will easily withstand any of winter's harsh elements with its waterproof design and fully tractioned rubber sole that can overcome any obstacle. Its web-lacing system and drawstring collar will keep the chill and snow out, while its Thermaplush inner boot system keeps warmth in. So bring on the blistering cold because you'll be prepared—even when the thermometer reaches -148° F. From the Manufacturer Twenty-five years ago Baffin Footwear began manufacturing insulated and non-insulated footwear products. While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. Baffin combines leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, which creates a hybrid style of high-performance footwear. This equates to more warmth, better fit, and superior comfort. Baffin boots are different than most shoes and work boots because the sole and midsole are molded to the base in one continuous process. The sole itself is a marvel of modern engineering because it is made up of several advanced thermo-set polymers that are combined together to achieve the right balance of warmth, protection, low weight and grip. Baffin is dedicated to offering boots with functionality and fashion, while still maintaining their legendary performance.

Serious cold weather boots
I have Raynauds and my feet get cold very quickly, very easily, and hurt like heck and then go numb.I have some other Baffin boots already that are rated to -100 F that were almost warm enough for me, but not quite. So I thought I would try these. These are quite a bit thicker, bigger, more clompy. So if you don't like clompy, these are. But, to get this kind of cold protection, you have to have a lot of insulation, and that makes for clompy boots. I don't care. They are warm. My feet stay warm. I have horses and need to tend them, even when it is -20 out, as I need to put blankets on the horses. These boots make it possible for me to do that without the distress to my feet that I had before. These are serious cold weather boots.

Disappointed
I like the boots They feel great and don't seem too small or too large. I normally wear a 6 1/2 so I got a 7. BUT, my toes get cold and I'm so disappointed. In less than half an hour my toes are getting cold. Maybe they're too small? My foot feels great in them, snug, but not overly tight. I wear thin 20% wool socks. I took the liners out last night after wearing them out to feed the horses, and clean the barn, in 20 degree below zero weather. The insides of the boots were wet, and one of the waffle insoles was bent back at the toe. It was like that from the factory because I didn't do anything but wear them. I thought all would be good today since the liners and boots dried overnight. But my toes got cold again today, and it's a balmy 8 below zero right now. I'm in northern MN. I don't know what to do. Am I doing something wrong? I am sure they will not take them back as they have been used, unless the bent back tip of the waffle insole could be considered a defect. Will they break in so that my toes have more room? I don't know because I have worn them each day, for a couple hours, for 3 days now, and they don't feel any looser. I thought FINALLY I found a boot to keep my feet warm. And now I'm out a hundred and some dollars. Sucks.

Terrible disappointment
Were a little snug @ first, but loosened up well. I bought a size 6, but I usually wear a 5 1/2. Seem fairly comfortable. (UPDATE- Not sure how they claim the temp they do. I was in 20 degree above & my toes were starting to chill. Also, my feet were getting moist. Never had this problem w/ boots before. I sent back. Defective pair...? Maybe, but I was extremely disappointed.) Yet to determine how good @ extreme temps. Could really use cushion for bottom of feet, as much walking makes feet fatigued. I am quite surprised by how lightweight they are. Helps to not feel weighted down. Hoping they really are good to @ least 40 below or so (says to 148 below.) So many others claim to go that low, but fail miserably. I've had a pair of LaCrosse before that were awesome, but can't get those anymore it seems. These sounded like they might fit the bill for our Alaskan life. Time will tell, Winter is just starting in, so we will see how they fare. Staying warm when out and about here is essential and can potentially mean frostbite or even life or death w/out the right gear.

Spent the past 5 winters in the Eastern Sierras with Sorel boots and I now realize they are more like glorified fashionable rain
If I could give them 6 stars I would!!! Spent the past 5 winters in the Eastern Sierras with Sorel boots and I now realize they are more like glorified fashionable rain boots (anyone who lives in snow knows that snow collects and clumps on faux fur, which a lot of the Sorels have on the top). I used to wear 3 pairs of thick wool socks and my feet would still be freezing, which was discouraging as I really need be able to stand in deep snow when we get stuck on our off-road adventures. These Baffin boots are exactly what I was looking for, warm, incredibly comfortable, and easy to put on and take off. One pair of wool socks and they fit perfectly. I wear a size 7 in most shoes but an 8 in most boots, and the Baffin size 8 fit just as expected. I am the type of person that wears 5-6 layers, but when I was out earlier this week at night in a blizzard taking recovery photos, I found myself completely fine in only one pair of sweats in knee-high snow because my new Baffin boots were keeping my feet so warm. Absolutely love these boots and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a REAL winter boot!

they don't provide warmth at the temps advertised
I exchanged a pair of Kamuks for these Baffins because the Kamuks were too big, and my brother told me Baffins are crazy warm (also double the price though). I'm wearing them now, it's 27° F and my feet are freezing. No idea why they say they're rated to -148 or whatever. They are definitely thicker insulation, tight at first especially the the toe box (snug is probably a better word cuz they don't hurt) but they break in (still too tight to wear with thick socks though). If I went a size up they would be too big (my heel slides a little in the pair I have).I'm at a loss, where can I get boots that keep my feet warm when it's below freezing? (I need them for wearing outside for 4-6 hours in the winter)

These are warm!!!
I ordered these on a recommendation. I'd been told Baffin boots were very warm & since I always seem to have cold feet in winter, I was looking for something even better than my 2000 thinsulate boots. While I will never have to test out whether they are good to -148 as the description says, I have been wearing them in 0 degrees & quite toasty. I will say they do run a little snug. I ordered a size 9 as my shoe size is 81/2 to 9, depending on shoe & they seem tight, but I can wiggle my toes so I've decided going up a size would have been too big. The inside liner is thick & wearing heavy socks is problematic. I'm thinking my smart wools probably won't work for this boot, but I'm content wearing thinner socks or even sock liners might be great. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a warm boot.

I love these shoes
I love these shoes !!!! I live in Alaska, they are perfect for our winter with snow, rain, below 0 F and above 32 F sometimes. I read previous reviews that they are bulky, yes they are definitely not for walking on the street for fancy shopping. I walk dogs in them, clean snow around house, walk in forest, go ice-fishing and I am happy to have them on my feet. Shoes have a very good traction on the ice. I have size 7, ordered the same, and it is perfectly fit. Very good quality, easy to put on and off, very good tightening and they are very light. Very comfortable to drive a car also. These are my second Baffin boots, and I'll probably buy more because the quality is perfect.

Amazing boots
Wonderful wonderful boots keep your feet amazingly warm! And the quality of the boot will last you at least 30 + years. Yes they are expensive but i think about it this way. As a women i have to buy a new pair of winter boots every year i live in canada, up north. the salt always gets to my boots they get ruined the inside near the heal wear down and rips. So instead of buying new boots every year i invested in these boots that will last me many years to come and save me money down the road. You dont get quality like this any more best boots you can buy. Plus they are the warmest boots i have ever owned.

They are pretty warm. Better than my old Sorel Joan of ...
The liner of the boot is very squishy and hugs your feet much more than expected. I ordered a size larger than usual and I can't wear thick socks yet (I do think in time it will be better). If I try to have the boots tight they rub on my shins, but that just might be me.They are pretty warm. Better than my old Sorel Joan of Arctic boots. My toes start to get cold around -30°C when surrounded by snow but they warm up really quickly once I have them off the ground.Definitely the warmest boots I have yet tried.

Today I was so happy that I had warm feet the entire day
A godsend !!!I work with children; I am outside for 2+ hours a day in the snow. Today I was so happy that I had warm feet the entire day! No extra socks needed. They are not a fashion statement. They are solid. They are thick. You may walk like an astronaught. But it is totally worth it.In the past years I bought boots from other companies claiming to be warm to -40. I would have numb toes in ten minutes no matter how many pairs of socks I wore. It was so painful. And expensive..Now I can finally have warm feet and a reasonable price !

Love supporting Canadian companies
Fit as expected. Ordered my usual size 8. Initially though I had ordered a men's size by accident; they look huge in the box but it's because they're so insulated lol. Will be wearing these snowmobiling in northern New Brunswick and Quebec ... will update post.Love supporting Canadian companies. Quality seems superior. Amazon offered best pricing. Shipping was quick.

I am so glad I ordered these boots for my wife. She loves them. Fits a bit snug so might want to recommend one size up. Glad I read the reviews. These are absolutely authentic Baffin Boots.
