Pirastro Gold Rosin For Violin - Viola - Cello

I’m just testing this out, and it’s awesome! It provides very strong grip and a brilliant, full-rounded tone and sounds like it would work for many different styles or string setups. I will put on a little less next time, I was so used to cheap stuff I put too much on! It looks like it will not crumble easily, so that will be awesome. My last (cheap) one crumbled to pieces and was quite annoying. It’s pretty, too! Definitely a worth it purchase so far!!

All the other rosin I’ve purchased breaks up and chips into tiny pieces which are a mess to try and use, this did not! There is no big secret to using it the first time, no cutting or scraping the rosin up to be able to use it! To me that is enough right there! The price is a tad more but totally worth it in my book! I love this company and will also be ordering some Pirastro strings for my violin as well after seeing the quality in the rosin! Super fast shipping and very well packaged as well! It makes your bow go so smoothly across the strings and the sound quality is to die for! Even for my beginning squeaks I can tell a huge difference in the stuff I got with the violin and from the music store for $2 as well!

I love this rosin. It works beautifully. It definitely grips the strings much better than the cheaper rosin that came with my violin. I can definitely hear the nuances and tone much clearer now than before. All I need to do now is replace my bow with a real horse hair bow and my violin will sing like an angel! Perfect price for some pretty perfect rosin. It lasts so long too. The picture is a little deceiving. I was expecting it to be the size of a quarter. I was pleasantly surprised with how large it is. Which isn't too large or anything. So perfect size, rosin lasts a long time too. It's really wonderful. Fantastic work Pirastro keep it up!

there were also a million broken shards, right out of the box. 4 star for the sound it produces, 0 stars for the quality of packaging. I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing, looking for this potential issue. None.

The quality is great and it works great for any string! My violin has a beautiful sound to it and it's super easy to hold and grip onto when using the rosin. Ignore the price. You must buy this! It's totally worth the price. (It does kind of drop a lot more debris than most rosins do, but that's fine. You can just clean your instrument)

The Pirastro Gold Rosin is in use with my violin (actually 3 violins and their bows - CodaBow Diamond GOLD bow), and the remarkable comment is the lasting power of the rosin to remain intact, hard, yet still sufficiently pliable to rosin the bows. Most rosins remain on the bow for several measures of music, and then the balance ends up between the bridge and the violin neck as a mess. There simply isn't the bow-hair and rosin fusion which is present with the Pirastro Gold Rosin. I have used the same rosin for nearly six months and it is still firmly in shape and adequately sufficient to continue for many months remaining. I would recommend Pirastro Gold Rosin for the professional violinist who requires the voice of the instrument to rise above the rest and to continue throughout an evening without the need to add additional rosin. This is a unquietly fine product and I would recommend it for any level of musician for its long lasting use.
