Bargain Hunter

This is a very good game and provides a gateway for people familiar with traditional trick-taking card games to enter the world of modern board and card games. Pick it up and play it with people who would normally play hearts, spades, setback or whatever. They should enjoy this.The designer of this game, Uwe Rosenberg, has created several other great board and card games as well so if you like this check those out too. I am especially fond of the card game Bohnanza.

Just sort of washed over me. I like trick-taking games, and I thought some of the stuff in this game was "clever" for lack of a better word, but it didn't really grab me after a couple of plays. I like it okay but felt no need to own it. I would play it again if someone else had it, but certainly wouldn't request it out of the blue or anything.

An enjoyable, quick game. It's partly luck, and partly planning ahead to get cards that work together to score a lot of points. It's not particularly deep and involved (good for casual gamers), but there's enough to it that it will appeal to people who enjoy more challenging games.
