Yes, this is exactly what needed. I bought the Vantrue OnDash R2 and it works well BUT I had to use a cigarette lighter. So even if I was able to hide the cord it's ugly power adapter was sticking out. I knew I wouldn’t be able to hardwire the kit so I had to come up with an alternative. I was looking for different options when I came across this. I ordered it without high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to plug-in and the cord was long enough that it wrapped hitting up the driver side pillar under the lining of the roof and to the right side of my rearview mirror. I haven’t tried parking mode yet because I don’t think I need it at this time. In ACC mode It does exactly what it says it would do.

When I first bought this it was working perfectly, but overtime it starting acting up. I leave mines of "ACC" mode. Within 3-5 minutes it will then turn off after shutting off the vehicle. A month later I realized it wouldn't turn off completely. There was a moment when I was gone for 2 hours and the dash cam will still be on. Thankfully my battery hasn't drained yet. This has happened multiple times. Do yourself a favor and just unplug it from your dash cam when your'e not driving your vehicle and plug it back in when you are. I wouldn't trust this in 'PARKING MODE" as well. I wouldn't take that risk. So take caution when using this product.

This is the most convenient hardwire kit I've found.Most dash cam hardwire kits will come with a voltage cut off of somewhere around 11.5v. This will kill your battery if exercised daily.This guy cuts out at 12v (still a bit low but one of the highest cutoff available on the market) on one switch setting. Flip the switch and you're running on ignition power only. (Supplies power for a few (3-5?) minutes after you turn off ignition)Bottom line, unless your using your dash cams' provided hardwire kit to run directly off ignition power and you don't have anything taking up your obd2 port, just buy this first. They should just provide this with every dash cam. It will save a lot of headache, and possibly a dead battery before you come back to this and buy it. I went through it for 3 weeks trying to find the best kit. The port, and therefore the switch is easily accessible, I find it handy. Wish the cam came with this from the start.

I originally purchased one of those hardwire kits that tapped into the fuse box and would get engine codes from it. NOT THIS! , this thing works perfectly!!! BUY IT NOW ! , I’m going to order a spare

Perfect. Works as described. Since connecting mine for over a year I’ve had no problems and the connection kit is effective and easily removed if needed. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to install. Works just as advertised. Alot simplier than messing with the fuse block. Easy switch between ACC and Parking mode. Just a flip of the switch.

over all worth it specially you can switch to parking mode..

I was so relieved to find this option, as my car does not have a cigarette lighter. It works great. I haven't had any problems with it powering my Vantrue N2 Pro.
