The Pearl Series are not meant to be mixed with other colors as this may affect the metallic attributes of these paints. The pigment particles are heavy and will settle easily so make sure to stir the metallic paints when using to get good pigment distribution.Our encaustic colors are handmade from the finest ingredients: Enkaustikos selects the most beautiful pigments the finest No. 1 Singapore Damar Resin and United States Pharmaceutical Grade (USP) Refined Natural Beeswax. Our Iridescent Pearl paints are extremely useful for mixing with other colors for pearl-like qualities. The Pearlescent colors are made form lightfast non-tarnishing mica particles with various metallic finishes. Our wax paints are sold in 1 fluid ounce disks which measure approximately 2 inch diameter and are 1/2 inch thick. If you buy 16 fl ounces you will receive 16 disks which are quicker to melt and much easier for dispensing in the classroom or workshops. We offer a range of sizes from 1 fluid ounce to 16 fluid ounce. We recommend heating our wax paints between 150 and 175 degrees F to prevent burning and to offer optimum working characteristics.
